I've said it before and I'll say it again, for what you want the Tech 21 Boost RVB is where it's at.

You're gonna hate me for saying this but I based on the demos, both those pedals have that digital 80's quality to them that just doesn't jive with me.

Fuck it man, I'm just gonna have to live in a cave.

FWIW I'm pretty sure that all of Tech 21's stuff is analog. "80's digital sounding" is not a descriptor I would have used for my Boost RVB, but to each his own.

Welll...it's kinda impossible to make analog reverb without a spring or an elaborate mic setup.

Wikipedia claims that "Tech 21 has continued to use only analog technology," but it's wikipedia, so :idk: . RVB could be an exception.

Edit: Tech 21's page says "100% analog Mix, Feedback, Tone and Level controls," which is not all of the controls, so yeah, probs DSP. But still, doesn't sound like 80's stuff to me.

I bet a hummer it's because of some bullshit like an "analogue dry signal path."

Dark verbs is what the RRR specializes in Mr King-man-fellow. If you're really truly underwhelmed by it, I do lurve me the Cathedral. Turn the tone down and it's pretty dark.

Hm. Okay. Maybe I need to play one in person. I'm gonna try to find more demos of it.

In a weird spot where I'm GASing, but not for anything specific.
I want to try some new fuzz and modulation. Maybe a malekko plus ultra.

I'm also at the GASing for something I haven't found yet. It'll probably be a new amp or some modulation pedals. First I need to sell some that I have though... :grumpy:

I have a RRR and a Boost RVB. They sit right next to each other on my board and I can tell you
for sure the RRR is definitely brighter and less ambient sounding. In fact I run the RRR first so I
can use the RVB to darken it up.

Don't get me wrong, the RRR is a great reverb pedal but I wouldn't describe it as "dark" sounding at all. :idk:

Well, after I saw Kayzer's demo, I'm convinced (again, I know, I know....).

The murderator will be mine! If I hate it, I can always trade it for something.

True. It's a pretty good price too.
If it doesn't work out, I'll send you the RVB to check out.

Do you have it on a dark setting?  Because there's a noticeable high cut and general tone affection with mine if I crank the mix.

Yeah.
It does get darker the more you turn the mix up but it seems to me that that has more to do with
the attack than the trails. Also, the boost seems to bring out more highs.
I really dig the rotating speaker setting with the mix around 12 or 1 running into another reverb set with long trails.
It gives everything this kind of warble that's really cool.

I actually think the rotary setting on the RRR is what sealed the deal for me, I'd love to have that sound in my arsenal.

How different is the Blunderbuss from the Musket? I generally enjoyed the musket, but it was a touch too noisy, not loud enough and it didn't play well with my flanger. I'm wondering if it's worth trying a Blunderbuss instead.
