If I had infinite money, I'd buy Erica Acidbox III but it costs a bit too much for me at the moment.

I've not tried one but it is something I'd be maybe interested in too. Not helpful but, yeah also interested.

uhhhhh.why only 3? i grabbed one because i miss noodling on bass and just don't have the space or patience or want to set up a cab with a good mic'ing situation. it's sooooo much easier lining in, the hope is this will sound Sexy Tinker Toy Love Butts Jumble Times lined in.

but. for bass, and i have just the one, i would want a clean, a dirty, a fuzzed. that's.... three. all spots full.

i was REALLY thinking about finally setting up a patchbay and running drums and synths through the ADAM as well.

I've had one for a few months. I have a gate expander and a DIN MIDI breakout, as well. It works. The possibilities are pretty exciting, but the execution is fairly boring. You pretty much have to have a computer nearby and a USB-C to USB-A cable so that you can use the web interface to program it. You can do it without the computer, but keeping track is a nightmare.

Pros:
-Expandable and flexible
-Programing very simple with computer
-Very easy to assign a Channel/CC to an output and be done

Cons:
-Can't find the FHX-8CV to save my life right now
-Takes a lot of pre planning to make it work if you're not doing an MPE Keyboard
-One known bug with multi channel MPE and gates locking on (I'd expect to be fixed soon.)
-Have to save/load both "presets" AND "configurations" (I think this is more an issue for me because of my lack of familiarity with DAWs and the fact that the Sensel Morph kind of makes this setup a moot point.)

The Sensel Morph also needs a computer to be programmed and it's kind of a pain. But a generic MIDI keyboard works fairly simply and I've been happy. If you're just looking for keyboard only MIDI to CV, you might want to look at the Poly 2. My understanding is that's supposed to just "work." I personally don't think I need that. I think I've decided that trying to make a polyphonic keyboard controlled eurorack synthesizer is a nightmare. Monophonic is fantastic, though. Having 5 CV outputs for one note is really powerful. Also very useful to take something like the Buchla Thunder overlay on Sensel Morph and give each of the pads different jobs (assuming you have enough outputs) and it can be a very powerful interface.

this sells it quite well, but i think beyond the interesting layout and choices most people with more than one row of euro has this covered.

a VCO with wavefolder, pt2399 delay, filter and some extras. I think it forces one to go back to basics, as compared to the way you might go about approaching a massive wall of synths. if you can force yourself back to basics i don't see the need for this.

If I were to start all over again today I'd get this over 0-coast though, who doesn't love a delay built into a synth.

Yeah I have zero rows of modular. I'll be using the Strega as an expander for my Matriarch along with my Werkstatt.

I might eventually build a little semi-modular setup with the Strega, Werkstatt, No Ctrl, No Coast, and maybe the Koma Field Kit and/or Field Kit FX. That would be a lot of things to buy though so I'm probably not going to achieve that any time soon.

On Knurlies: I have my whole rack done with Knurlies but I don’t think they are that great, and somewhat regret the investment. The real benefit is being able to finger tighten or unscrew, but if you got knurlies to help prevent rack rash, if you care about that, they are just so-so. The black plastic washers on a Knurlie still seem to be able to mark up or scuff up modules sometimes, in a way that regular nylon washers or screws never did for me. I think nylon screws (why add a washer to a metal screw, when the whole thing can be plastic?) are the shit and would replace my Knurlies with them if I wasn’t lazy and really cared a little more about little screw blemishes. As far as the benefit of finger tightening the screws, meh. Sometimes it’s handy, but it’s not really faster (unless maybe you misplace your screwdrivers all the time) or in any way more satisfying to do so. I know I don’t post much here lately but I want to save you some money to buy more modules, you’ll be much happier with those than with some fancy screws.

The advantage I see with Knurlies is that it's easier to hold it to the screw driver as I guide it into a tight space on the rack. I seem to drop screws more often than Knurlies. But that's about it for me.

True but only a dropped Knurlie is worth bending over for to pick up, nylon screws are so cheap you just let the Roomba have it and grab another one before it hits the floor. Just kidding, I think you’re right I do drop these less.
