I wouldn't expect my store to have short scale strings, let alone short scale flatwounds.
Now I'm out thirty bucks.

Try selling them on here? :idk:

Either that or mod your bass to shorten the scale. :D

Beatle people... and me... I'd buy then too but I don't like the chromes SS set and just use a LS set on SS basses...

i am unhappy with my hair

but i hate "special hairstyles and haircuts" because they need to be dilligently maintained

my main concern is i'd look like a dickhead though

which i feel like i already do?

fuck

i hate being at "home" because it makes me feel extremely bad. I hate being around my mom, it hurts me on the inside. This is no home for me

I sprained my wrist pretty bad the other day. It's my fretting hand, so no guitar for me for a couple of days at least still. At least it happened at work, so I got yesterday and today off (supposed to be working still right now), and I'll be getting worker's comp for it.

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet but i fvcking hate playing in a band who confuses "a large dynamic in the music we write and play" with having no fvcking musical direction. I'm sorry but a 6 song EP with half dark heavy shoegaze / post-rock and the other half electro-pop / hip hop is not a good idea. Pick a musical style ALL of us agree on and go with it, cause I'm not the only one in it who joined a post-rock band not a hip hop band......

GAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH :picard:

Oh and BTW when "layering tones" having 3 different instruments play the same line in the same octave at the same time is not layering, its making MUD. but less so than me playing an octave down? wait you don't want huge low end in a hip hop song?!?!? It sounds better when the bass line is in the same octave as the guitar line?!?!?!?!

What a fucking day to run out of my scripts and not be able to get more till friday....

This just in: (literally got the email ten seconds ago) we are no longer putting the post-rock / shoegaze songs on the EP, its gonna be all electro-pop / hip hop..... Why do I even try with other people? I have a feeling i should just embrace my inner narcissus and just do my solo project.... :grumpy:

Man, big ol' +1 to this. I've had these types of arguments in both my originals group and in my cover band. There's something to be said for having some variety in your band, but it still has to have some sort of thematic connection. Just playing random genres one right after the other is ridiculous and annoying.

My rig? Which one? I can't use my big rig with them, i have more money in that amp setup than they have in ALL of their gear put together (no joke) and its way louder than i would ever get to use (it has as many speakers in 2 cabs, as they have collectively in 5). My small rig? That's what I'm currently using and I'm scorned because I'm using a tube amp and a 4x12, because they have to crank their lil 100watt solid state fender twins to 7 or 8 to keep up with me on 1.... I got told last night that my bass amp is too warm and full sounding, they want it tight and poppy and more solid state like.... :wha?: This new musical direction they are taking is the total anti-thesis to my musical integrity. If this keeps up I will most likely be moving on, I don't care what potential they have, all the connects and trailer music deals were all made on the music we were creating (post-rock / shoegaze) and even then our trailer company was telling us they wanted MORE low end in the recordings and songs, so what does the band tell me to do? Switch to SS amps and play an octave higher than normal!!! WTF!!! If they aren't going to listen to the people willing to line their pockets, they won't pay up anymore, which means there is no potential for growth. I'm livid and have been for hours, I have a feeling tonights band practice is not gonna be fun.

It is insanely annoying and ridiculous, especially when you've built up a huge fan base for your band by playing one genre, and then you switch back to the genre you played years ago and had absolutely no luck with at all. I'm all about having lighter / poppier songs if they fit the context of the band, theres one small problem. I have been asking for 2 months now what is the context of the band? What is our musical direction? Their answer..... It is irrelevant.

Irrelevant? Having a musical direction in a band is irrelevant? So were basically soulless production company only making music to get big, but we don't want to write music for people (which is what you have to do to make money, you have to have a potential market and appeal to them) we want to write what ever we want and tell people what they want to listen to? Wow, I had no idea we had that much fvcking clout in the music biz. :picard:

Shit, I'm having this problem with my covers band only on a much smaller scale. We play vaguely "bluesy" rock, but I keep trying to move us towards music that is newer and would appeal to youngish people.

So I keep pushing songs like Ain't No Rest For The Wicked, Cut Like a Buffalo, or Joker and The Thief. They can only come up with ZZ Top songs.

Did I mention that we've all ready added a string section and now they want to add in a horn (trumpet) section as well..........
