Oh man, I love Hotline Miami, but I've already beat it a few times on the PC. I really don't need to spend more money just to have it on the Switch
Hotline Miami is one of the Great Games atmo. Hotline Miami 2 had so much potential but ended up sucking donk (i.e. I got stuck and could not win a level).

...

I'm still on "RISK OF RAIN 2" for Switch. It is so hard. Once you get to stage six or seven, the Switch stops being able to handle the game and FPS drops to slide-show. Pretty irritating but I've seen vids online of PCs having the same trouble. I rank this game up there with "BINDING OF ISAAC," another Great Game of All Time according to my opinion.
I thoroughly enjoyed both Hotline Miami 1 and 2 and played through both a few times. Definitely a pretty brutal game and I got stuck on a few levels for awhile. I'll probably buy them both again on the Switch when I want to play them again.

I also love Binding of Isaac. I ended up buying that again on the Switch along with the DLC that I didn't have before because my save files were all deleted on the PC. The DLC is so worth it! So many more enemies, rooms, items, just more of everything really!

I still haven't bonded with Risk of Rain 2, but I've also only played like 10-20 minutes or so.
I'm afraid to start playing "BoI" again because I put probably 1,000 hours into the game on PS Vita. That's enough for me, I think. "Risk of Rain" takes a while to get into for sure. My Nintendo Surveillance Newsletter informs me I spent 48 hours playing it in the last 30 days.

Same as far as BoI goes, I spent a lot of time on several different versions of it on PC and I'm not ready to recommit.

Agreed: BoI and HM1/2 are some of the Great Games, and both do a lot to advance character development and narrative not just through non-action "Story" segments but through actual gameplay mechanics in ways that aren't possible in other media.

Hotline Miami 2 was def more frustrating and less tight than the first, but I found it was worth the struggle in the end (and for the ending: shit was bonkers). I had nightmares about it after I beat it haha, fucking dogs and windows and men with guns, ugh.

So, Animal Crossing. Doesn't seem like my type of game. Watched our goblins play it for a few days, then started my own character to wreak havoc on the island. Basically troll them by moving their stuff around and dig a bunch of holes while claiming I was looking for treasure. Then, somehow, the cuteness kept bringing me back and now the whole house is into this. Watching numbers go up has never been so non-violent and simultaneously fun. Kind of expect to just be over it any day but I still have that itch to go back and do this and that.

Anybody playing Stardew Valley?
I'm trying to figure out if it's tedious like Minecraft was to me or if it's worth it...

I am really enjoying Hyper Light Drifter. I just beat the 3rd boss and started exploring the south area. I cannot find keys at all, though. I think I have three of them. I'm finding tons of secret paths, but none of them seem to hide any keys. The soundtrack is phenomenal; I've been inspired enough by it that I've actually put down the game to go mess around with some synths.
I think I found about 5 keys in my game, not that many. I think there are a LOT of secret areas, plus remembering to backtrack to previous places now you have enough keys/segments.

I spent ten hours completing the last boss but I guess it might take that much time again to find all the secret stuff lol. Didn't feel worth it to me
I'm torn about trying to find more/all of them. I'm not really a completionist, but there are a lot of locked doors that I want to open. At least I'm not missing anything.

Oh wow, that's going to be interesting. I've been impressed with the bosses so far; they've been incredibly challenging, but at the same time, I've always felt like I could beat them given a little more practice and/or luck. Kind of similar to Dark Souls bosses. Very rewarding when you finally beat them.
I just beat Hyper Light Drifter. I actually didn't find the last boss all that difficult. Beat him on the 7th or 8th try. I had 7 keys and almost all of the upgrades. Just missing a few of the ammo ones, although also missing a few weapons. Overall, I really loved that game. Beautiful atmosphere and a wonderful soundtrack. I'm just sitting here listening to the credits and I think I'm going to have to go play synth when it's done

It definitely inspired a few synth jams while/after I was playing it! :thumb:

Really lovely game. I found the last boss tough as heck haha probably took me 20 tries.

Got the new mini XCom game the other day because best games ever. Seems really fun though a bit limited, controller support isn't out yet aaand it turns out my new eye problems mean I really shouldn't be playing games right now

But it'll be fun when I can play it.
