Always been curious about that whole series. Never stumbled across any of them in the real world, but they show up in the $100 range pretty frequently online... though that just compels my inner cheapskate to wait for one to inevitably turn up for $60.

I'm a fan--have the Chaos, Helium, Unity and Sloika; really like them all, in about that order (which is also the order of strangest to normal... est). Paid between $45 and $80 shipped, but it took me a while for some of them to drop into my range.... Todd's demos are pretty representative tonally, though they all have more range than you can show in a couple of minutes, and they're responsive enough to playing technique that you'll likely find a few different tones of your own. I actually disliked the way some of them sounded in other demos, hence the effort to find them cheap (other than the Chaos and Helium which I knew from their Studio Electronics versions). Having them now, I'd happily pay more for them than I did, the Chaos especially....

I find it cool that each has a particular trick that is very distinctive, but they're not so boxed in that they only do that one thing.

Cool, thanks for the info! I have the original Chaos and Helium, but I'd happily grab the Malekko versions if they came up cheap enough because the SEs are a pain in the dick to integrate into a board in multiple ways. The Unity seems the most interesting to me on the surface, but I'd be required by law to acquire the rest of the series if I got one. They'd all have to be the first run horizontal boxes, too.

I had the SE Helium--the Malekko version compares well, imo....
