Fuck. You have no idea how much time and effort I've expended unironically attempting to get the Superego to sound like bagpipe drones.
Also, this would probably sell fantastically well.

Drone dreams!
I wish these
electronic bagpipes weren't so damn expensive.

Musikmesse opens this Wednesday, so expect some announcements this week. Superbooth is on deck less than a month from now, and it is expected to serve as a launching party for multiple new hardware synths. Moog, DSI, Korg, Buchla, Dreadbox, Earthquaker, and dozens of modular builders are scheduled to exhibit.
I think a new Moog synth will be announced in May, due to the proximity of event dates. It's the ideal time for them to show off their new JUCE-supported unit. Speculation runs anywhere from a Voyager 2.0 to a hybrid poly. We will likely know something soon either way.
this link has a vendor directory:

Musikmesse (April 11-14)
Superbooth (May 3-5)
Moogfest (May 17-20)
Summer NAMM (June 28-30)
Here's some pedal news in the meantime.

Many people have compared the upcoming Valkyrie to the Virus. I will be curious to see the cost. Hopefully it's easier on the eyes, than the early 90s PC enclosure.
The Valkyrie features 128 voice performance, 8 independent parts, each with a nine-module effects unit.
Sound generation is done in custom-designed hardware, at a 32x oversampled rate. The synth offers ten oscillators per voice (1,280 in total) which can be doubled to twenty by combining two voices.

A tabletop delay from London label, Ninjatune, has leaked. No pricing or availability details are available yet, although it bears a noticeable similarity to the desktop offerings from Erica.

StringTheory is a 4-note paraphonic string synthesizer, based on the Solina String Synth emulation designed and coded by Jan Ostman.
This extremely easy-to-build module delivers a complete, classic poly string synth voice in just 6HP. Based around an Amtel ATMega328 chip this module includes a built-in MIDI input and interface, gate out, audio out and controls for envelope, ensemble and modulation.

According to GearNews, it will cost 45 GBP (DIY) or 60 GBP assembled. They're also expecting a standalone version in the coming weeks.

According to this rep, the Quantum can now hold 10,000 presets (7:57). The modulation routing menu is the deepest I've seen (4:50). I'm still not crazy about $4K for 8 digital voices, but some of the pro patches are finally scratching the surface of what it can deliver.
some sample sounds-- 2:57, 3:18, 5:14
