Regular DF is too complicated to me, plus I fucking hate ASCII graphics. And the tilesets aren't much of an improvement.
But reading stories of fortresses is quite entertaining.

Adventure mode is fun. I always use corpses as my main weapon -- eventually my guy is strong enough to carry around a pack of like six horse corpses. Enemy is running from you? Throw a horse at him to break his legs, then run up and beat the shit out of him with another horse. You can stab people with the horses too

Man...one time I beat an ice man juuust to the brink of death, but since I didn't have a "real" weapon, couldn't finish him off. It was inhumane. I gouged out his eyes and EVERY part of his body was broken. I would beat him into unconsciousness with my various dead animals, he would get up for a minute, throw up and get knocked out again. I tried to kill him for like 20 minutes, but eventually just left him there, the general area covered in blood and vomit.

My god I love adventure mode.

also, anybody played the new Deus Ex? gonna pick it up this weekend i think. sucks, might have to grab it for PS3. my 360 has been freezing up after 10 minutes of gameplay. dlc and disc gamez. fucking shitty "get it to market even though it's not ready" attitudes. pisses me offs even mores when it WORKS.

I have yet to try adventure mode but now I'm going to have to... Haha. Any recommended character builds?

I seriously love the fortress mode though. I just got the Phoebus tileset to work on my mac and it makes things a lot more manageable visually.

Been playing From Dust. Pretty fun. Good casual game.
