That's awesome. Sounds like a tuba.

I think Bill Withers is amazing. That's my least favorite of his songs, but probably his most popular.

"Just the Fuzz of Us" is the perfect title for your version.

Yeah, I have been looking at Dinger's all day. The Combustion is do-able, if I got rid of something. The trick with the Combustion is to score one of the special colors, they do runs of 12 or so with the Colored headstock too in every batch they make. I really like the Candy Tangerine color with a pickguard.
Of course I love the EBMM 25th too, those are beautiful basses AND they play great, of course I only had the 4 string model.

I really like the 25th's body shape, with the tele'ish influence (I'd like a tele-shaped bass someday), but I almost wonder if there are too many tone options on the thing...I saw Ed Friedland's review of it on YT awhile ago and he spent most of the vid (around 10 minutes or so total) simply illustrating the different settings.

And $12.5K is a LOT of money for a bass...maybe an Alembic Triple Omega, but otherwise...

i'm not an MM fanboi, the only one i've spent a lot of time with was a Sub5. and it was a good bass, but the low B's on Dingers are fucking amazing.

murrrr. dunno homie. lol. i mean, how long is it going to stay with you anyways?

CAPITAB FLIPP-A-DEE-DOO.

Well I'm planning on keeping it for a long time. When I originally was trying to flip my 25th, it was in order to get a 25th 5 string. I just ended up with something different because GAS struck. HAH. I don't like flipping basses. It's such a pain in the ass. So this would be one that is staying for a long time.

I'm leaning towards the MM, but the Dingwall is appealing. Hmm...gotta think. Gotta think!

How much do those Dingers go for new btw?

I bought a new AB1 from Bass Central, umm 7 years ago for $1550. Obviously times change.

shite. i WISH. i did only do about $600 down, they started a-buding, then payments over the 3 months it took to get done.

shit keeps getting in the way, but i've been trying to decide if i wanted a red or a white one whenever i finally don't have other shit going on and can order a second 'un.

they aren't cheap, but i haven't wanted to buy any other bass since i got mines. the multi-scale solution to floppy B's and guitary C's REALLY appeal to my nerdy side too.

Dingwalls... I've been looking at them for a little while now and really like them. The second I step up for a new bass they'll be in consideration for sure.

Thanks!

My teacher agrees on Bill being amazing, to the point of doing a Bill Withers tribute set with her coverband recently, but doesn't like that song at all; way too cheesy.

I'm not particularly fond of that song either, but your version is GOOD!

Not a big deal, just saying, but if the "special pages" of this thread were spaced out more.....it would be cooler....frequency diminishes the effectiveness of the reward....starting to get a bit diluted.

My two cents on the bass: Spend the money and get the one you want. Then spend the money and get the head you want. Then the cab. Then the effects. Don't "settle" and climb a ladder to where you want to be. You'll waste a ton of money and time doing that. Find the top of your list and save up for it.

Ha ha. Yeah, I keep reading right through 'em. Not even paying attention. The "special pages" really aren't any different than the regular pages. Every page is a "special page" to me. Sousa's right though, suspense needs a longer time to be built up.

Pretty sure it's the OP, MaxMaps. Though I wouldn't put it past any of our mods/admins to throw one in there.

Hahahaha. Both dudes changed their minds. Oh well. I'm going to keep the bass up for a few more days. If I don't get any bites for what I want, I'll pull it. It's a great bass.
