nope! just checked and it definitely does what you asked, as long as i'm understanding it correctly
you can even kind of do a faux dl4 'play once' kind of thing if you stop and start your feet are fast enough

Me and Eivind plays this song where we both run fuzzes that oscillate in a G#. I mute and strum over the oscillation and then loop that strumming pattern while we play other stuff over it. Then there are breaks where the strumming is supposed to stop before kicking back in again. Right now I have to turn off the looper (hold down the footswitch) and then start the looper and engage the fuzz again while strumming...all at the same time. Major pain in the ass. Would be so much easier just to punch it in and out with one pedal.

On the X2, Stop can be used as an effect on the dedicated effects switch, requiring only one stomp, instead of two, to stop the loop. (I find it helps avoid screwing up your loop, too.) The loop light blinks to indicate it is in standby. Tap the switch and the loop begins. You can even store your loop in memory.
