Have you tried Reaper, it is a powerful DAW, free to try, $60 or so to buy.
Maschine is SO much more than a drum machine.

Looks like I'll be giving Reaper a try. I haven't heard too much about it, except for a friend of mine who thought it was too complicated, but I'll be going in with as open of a mind as possible.

MicroKorg or MicroKorg XL. Both are really great and have lots of flexibility. Only gripe one might have are the small keys.

If you can find a cheap yamaha pss 460/470/560/570, nab it. It's a FM synth, have they're own kind of character, and not everything is fully controllable, but there are no menus and you can edit all of the stock patches with the sliders to get some sweet sounds. If you can grab one for like $80 or under I'd jump on it. Plus you could have it bent if you wish (apparently they're one of the best old synths to bend).

Wuuuuut I thought you couldn't mess around with the stock patches on the 570 but apparently you can, I was just doing it wrong. Neato.
+1 on these though, they're fun. The shitty drums are good for running into dirt or just lowering tempo all the way down for some glockenspiel doomz.

So ILF likes analog pedals but only digital synths???
Find and old analog it will teach you what synthesis is all about...

TAKE IT BACK. TAKE IT BAAACCCCKKK!!!!
I'd love to have an analog synth, they sound great, but that shit ain't cheap.
& a lot of "cheaper" analog sythns are monophonic which I don't really dig.

Yep, I do all the time. It has RCA stereo out and a headphone jack.
I got a couple more videos on my channel, too

just ordered the Hot Hand 3 interface thinger to replace the gawd-awful original receiver. dunno if i'll use it with anything but the BEF Pro, but it'll be fun to see if it sounds good with the Xero or TimeLine.
gonna pick up a Mono PT-Pro bag tomorrow too. super escited to have some decent protection for the Pro that doesn't weigh 40 lbs empty like their hard case does.
WOOT.

Just got this:
Ekdahl Moisturizer

Picked it up from the post last night. Played with it some today, can produce some other worldly sounds.
It loves Clarinot, Echobase, Ring Modulator, Noise Ensemble and FUZZ. Like a Gristleizer on crack!
