Your using the wrong address, it needs to be the HTTP (no S) with youtube.Com (not youtu.be) and its gotta have the watch?v= before the unique part. You used the short link.

They had an RE-101 at the shop yesterday that I almost tried to trade towards, but the tag said intermittent operation. I was gonna get it just to spite you, but skully talked me out of it.

You can develop wireless transmission of audio signal through lasers, and infinitely small nano technology, but you can't figure out how to build a 40 year old tape deck.

i was going to demonstrate a laser based audio transmission system at some point. Purely novel shit as its not super useful but interesting non the least

I saw that video you did that was pretty slick. Was that a school project?

its a project we assign sophomores to build in the first circuits class and also high end high school students who participate in a 3 week summer program. Its a combination of a microphone and ipod input mixer circuit, bias T (AC and DC summer for the laser) and a solar cell based receiver circuit with op amp gain stage.

Interesting, I would have loved to taken a program in HS that let me build that.

yea pretty kool. If you get a good laser and design it properly you get very good fidelity using laser to transmit sound.

Have you tried the multiplex echo machine project? It's a lot of fun.

no but i have checked those schemes/ideas. Not super interested in a digital emulation of a tape echo or otherwise id rebuy the El Cap or buy a Lunar Echo/Echorec from Catbread ect.
