That was Aaron Gillespie, he left right before they wrote this album. Now there are no remaining original members of the band.
But Aaron was the the one holding onto the pop mentality, so him leaving has let them get pretty dark (comparatively).
Also, their new drummer is Daniel Davison, formerly of Norma Jean. That dude played on what is probably my favorite album of all time, Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child.

so, yeah, I'm pretty pleased with the direction they're going.

People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but actually from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint, it's more like a big ball of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey... stuff.
