So nearly done with my pedalboard... when i had a bit of a spanner thrown in the works.... The Pork Loin....
Basically I was set on using a Arc Klone to drive in or out of an Elements for the dirt sound of my amp (Matchless DC30 clone).
Then with my new found ILFing, with a little TGP, ran across the Way Huge Pork Loin (and saucy Box to a lesser degree) and how it may actually be a better alternative for the klon style circuit.
Now I've used both separately, but I won't have a chance to directly compare them.
Does anyone own both and prefer one over the other for adding something a little special to the signal and goose the pedal/amp into a nice bit of drive.
I do like that the klon circuit makes guitar sit in a mix so well, and adds that something special, the saucy box I used had a really nice drive to it! But not sure if it had that same something special...
Any thoughts are very appreciated!!!! Not unless someone has a Pork Loin (maaaybe a saucy box) for sale for a good price so I could get both to try them! Haha

I just posted a thread last night pretty much looking for something similar to you.

I only have the pork loin, but I think I would miss not having control of the clean blend.

This is a hard spot to fill, at least me for me, because you want it to be really dynamic. For heavy distortion and fuzz this isn't quite as important because it's such a big difference in sound, but the light OD is tricky. I plan on trying the mxr ep booster thing soon. Loved my xotic EP boost for this sound, but with one knob there was no way to get the cranked knob sound without a big volume jump.
