after much thinkingness what I want really is something between a standard fuzz and a rat with a LPF powerful enough to make whales swoon.

Re: If you could create any pedal...
It's an easy build, I can forward schematics so any shark tanker should be able to do it, along with notes on how to make it meaner (I gave him carte blanche on the mods once I'd discussed the few essential changes, and it's got a little tamer input stuff than the OG one).goroth wrote:If there ends up being interest for this I'd be down. Your modded test pattern, and the new boss, are high on my gas list for no reason other than your praise of them haha!rfurtkamp wrote:Not sure he's interested but if there's folks who want one, I can converse with him. Pedals are a side for him (like most builders, he does pro audio/live sound mostly).D.o.S. wrote:Small run and call it the Slurpee?rfurtkamp wrote:An improved DE Test Pattern (with voltage starve, some additional changes, can give circuit/pcb design on request, designer I hired is AOK with it),
Anyway, right now I'd still like a pedal that sounds like a broken transistor radio, which is what I said in the last version of this thread, I believe.
I can't build for shit, my nerves are too twitchy most days and I have peripheral vision only in one eye (other is fine, but close in depth perception is funky).

Yes to all.vidret wrote:stereo memory man hazarai WITH

delay knob makes the swoosh
3 switches, one on/off, one tap tempo/hold for oscillations and one for record
a setting where the "decay" knob affects grainy-ness of echoes
a threshhold stutter mode (á la red panda)
one mode where decay acts like playback (á ct5) (it already does this looped, just not in delays)
reverb comes on the attack of the input signal, not on the echo only
not made by ehx because they'll fudge it, also ugly graphics all the times. i'm maybe realizing sonic crayon already created this but doesn't sell it.
could put more in it but keeping it in the same box would make it fairly full already. maybe one or two fun toggle switches.
The CT5 scratches the itch that the SMMH gave me. But there's still so much potential in that pedal that they never made use of...fixing the volume drop, for instance, or actually making the echoes sound good. The looper was pretty awesome, but it's kinda old now, and has been eclipsed by other devices in terms of function. If they gave it a slicing/random control to go with the original continuous +/- 1 octave pitch control as well as reverse, and kept the tone control...and added the third footswitch dedicated to the looper...I'd be all about it. That's a lot of "ifs," though.
Also, here's an older iteration of my stuff when it was at maximum ridiculousness. There weren't many sounds I couldn't get out of this. If I'd had a BitQuest then, I would've been pretty set.

I think that's OK too. (Would've preferred something from the Voynich Manuscript though.)

Something like Ableton's resonator

haven't quite figured out how to do this yet. "easiest" would be a huge filterbank maybe. or a bunch of digital comb filters in parallel

I built one early this year like that. sounds insaneBoatRich wrote:Off to ring mod a delay with an effects loop now because I keep forgetting to do thatChankgeez wrote:Right now?
Probably a delay with a built-in Green Ringer.

A) love the resonator.
B) I feel like this thread is about pedals that a person could actually acquire, which might preclude one of your builds from being part of the discussion.

Re: If you could create any pedal...
Whatever it is, I want it capable of layered sounds. Like parallel ring mods! Split the signal into three, and ring mod each of those, to have one huge chord of clanging madness! Or flange in parallel with phaser! Or a delay where you can alternate WHICH DELAYED NOTE GETS WHICH MODULATION!!!!!!
Sigh.
But I'd settle for just about anything from Sonic Crayon. Even a t-shirt.

Re: If you could create any pedal...
I would be interested in a delay pedal that allows you assign different delay times to each successive repeat. Have no idea if something like that exists already. Let me explain.
Lets say the delay pedal has a range of 50ms - 1000 ms of delay. Now, say for example you have the "repeat/feedback" knob set where it would give you 4 repeats. You would have the ability to assign how many ms each repeat is after the one before it. Por ejemplo:
Repeat #1 begins 750 ms after you play a note
Repeat# 2 begins 250 ms after repeat #1
Repeat #3 begins 1000 ms after repeat #2
Repeat 4 begins 500 ms after repeat #3
I have no idea if this would have any musical applications, but it may be able to create some fun noise.

Re: If you could create any pedal...
Resonator in H9 works like that.
There is a grid where you place up to 4 repeats and assign a Note to each repeat.
