The Mother is based on the DR201 but has that awesome overdrive input that drives the amp in the almost indescribable way an Orange/Matamp overdrives. And the depth control is an F.A.C. as found on Matamps. The Hellhawk is mostly a Super Lead/Bass but to my ears the overdrive sounds more like a Laney with awesome Sabbath-esq power tube breakup.

Never could find one in decent shape. Because of that, I'd been eyeballing Verellen, Dunwich and a cloner from San Pedro. These Science guys have real competitive pricing.
Also the Mother's no nonsense bias monitoring and Science customer service being second to none virtually 24 hours a day is REALLY comforting. I can't say enough good things about Alex, he is the best.

Seriously. I live on the other side of the goddamn world and he still gets back to me asap with answers and options. Best amplifier I've ever owned. And I owned a JCM2550 that used to belong to Anthrax.
