I dunno if I'd even call it a delay. I am having a hard time describing it right now, but basically it only does super short delaytime, so you have a lot of control over the "resonance"-thing, and with CV-in and a rate knob that pulses the sound.
Watch this Kayzer demo instead, it pretty much sums it up:

Yeah watch a demo
It resonates on certain notes depending on the settings and you can adjust that in real time using an expression pedal. One of the best delays.

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
I would say that it is a very resonant echo. It focuses on atmosphere instead of repeats (like dirty swells on a tape echo would, but not sounding like that all). The modulation affects the resonance and when you hit certain notes in line with the modulation, it is like a bloom of high resonance. But for an analog pedal it does a good job emulating that old hall echo or cave echo with a very short delay time (I also believe that there is no gate between repeats so it just kind of sustained like the Koma BD-101 with all the noise but in a pleasant way). When the resonant sounds hit the note right, it gets very metallic but still organic. It's somewhere between an ambient echo and short ambient reverb with forced blooms of resonance (it sound like I am repeating myself sorry).Jero wrote:Care to elaborate? You've got to kind of learn the modulation and think outside the normal mod delay thought process. It's a pulse LFO and it seems like it was more designed to emulate the boost of sound an echo would get if it echo-ed onto itself in a sympathetic frequency. Eh, I hope I did ok describing it...it is kinda hard.

Hmmm seems like something I would need to have in hand to know if I needed or not. Kayzers demoes have never sold me on anything unfortunately. Could one not get a similar sound with a static filter/flanger and short delay?
And Strange, I do happen to have a like new pog2 to get rid of...and an interest in an expressionator as well. I'm concerened I would end up feeling the same about the misty cave as you though.

Has Kayzer NEVER sold you anything? Who are you???
Seriously though, I've tried to cop this sound with a few different pedals (where the Akai Headrush and Timebender did the best job at it imo), and it worked pretty well. I suppose a static flange should work? The trick when doing it with regular delay is set the feedback to just under oscillation levels and have the time as short as possible. It works perfectly with the headrush since it has a "time course" and "time fine" knob. Try it with whatever you have

Dont get me wrong, he's a good player, and the recording quality is there...but if I were blind folded I would have a hard time telling you what he was demoing, and differentiating between demos.
See, I have a headrush, and several other delays. The movement thats possible with the MC wouldnt be there though I guess.
Yea, thanks, I just went looking for that oneUncle Grandfather wrote:indeed.Jero wrote:Hmmm seems like something I would need to have in hand to know if I needed or not

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
There are a handful of other demos I made besides that one if you search my YouTube page. Should give you a better idea of how it sounds, it stacks so well with fuzz and other modulation pedlols. The delay time can be controlled with an expression pedal, so you can shift what frequencies resonate while playing...really opens up the pedal.Jero wrote:Brandsmannen wrote: Yea, thanks, I just went looking for that one![]()

I really forgot to mention a frozen flange/comb filter is a good way, but it is a little different than that too.
Thanks Brandsmannen for reminding me of that!

Re: What is in the post? The thread of and for GAS!
the MC is amazing, if you guys have one and don't have an EXP pedal for it you should get one! it makes it even more fun. I like running dirt after the MC to bring out the effect more, so try that too. I've found I like running the MC pretty early in the chain.
here's a thread I started about pedals that can get similiar sounds, if you guys were curious about that.
