that's so weird that it's being called a Newly Found Bugaboo. isn't that the Dumbo Octi? that i've seen for years? am i mixing up my Cephalpods?

Common names can(excuse the pun) muddy the waters..."dumbo" is kind of describing a genus (Grimpoteuthis is the sciencey name).
The articles I've seen say this guy is in Opisthoteuthis (they also have the "ear" fins, but have significant webbing between the arms...they aren't really tentacles)

i know devi from HCFX, she had some drama and get banned many times... i never did get the core in the beginning because i am slow, confused and i am not good in paying attention. anyway, i did came to ILF when HCFX went down. - its like a little time travel for me. Different forum, next level drama, same problemchild.

I just think it's sad she handles things this way. I know Devi can be kind and caring and humble because I've seen those qualities from her in the past. This is a the old Devi that I had thought was gone. She needs someone to handle her PR and not be so involved with social media and legal issues. I mean that whole thing is just a mess. I can't think that she actually feels the way she says she does about Dwarfcraft. It just doesn't make sense. To me at least. I don't know. It's all very sad.

I'm curious though for those of you out there that will still support her brand. Why? Why will you buy?

I won't. At this point, I have the must-haves (and had a custom built that she wouldn't do and DC had no plans to touch in the last year or so...so...), and at this point, barring the secret mana from heaven device, I couldn't face a couple people I know if I did.

And then I'd have to buy used or they'd kill me in my sleep.

i never had a problem with her but i am not sure if there is or ever was an "old Devi" - Devi is always nice when things are running, she is making new things/plans/ideas/friends... means there is no old or new.

i never liked her pedals, it was just "intressting". i made my way into the fuzz-world without a single E13 or DE pedal. i dont support her because i think her pedals are just not for me.

Edit: honestly, the person behind the desings is of course a reason not to buy any E13 or DE pedal no matter who is building them.

Hey there,
First of all I wanted to apologize for the looooooooooooooooong lack of updates. Two things happened. One, I lost my fucking mind. Two, I also lost deviever.com and forgot my password so I had to get them to verify me as a person to change the email and get back on here.
So yeah. Holy shit guys I am so fucking sorry for how absolutely unhinged I have been the past 12+ months. My trek into the video game industry and my move to Oakland was absolutely rock bottom for me.
I remember the exact moment, sitting there with a knife to my wrist after having been cutting myself off and on for weeks. Getting wrapped up in this weird online world of shit posting and radical progressives gaslighting folks left and right under the guise of feminism.
... all while my mental and physical health plummeted because I am a fucking idiot who wasn't taking care of myself.
Holy shit.
So as you are all well aware by now, my stint as a video game developer never panned out financially, and after over a year of trying, it's time I buckle down and get back to making a living... and if there's one thing I'm good at, it's fuzz. :3
Yup, I'm getting back into the pedal biz, and I know for some of you that's probably an eye rolling statement, but hey fuck you buddy, when I'm in a good head space, I'm a fucking champion of design, manufacturing, and marketing, and I have felt more myself recently than I have since before facial surgery, which was when I really had my shit together.
So the 411 on this whole getting back into the pedal business is that I have some associates who have been long time supporters that are helping me get back into the pedal biz through generous financial contributions.
Also, on a side note, a lot of my bank debts have cleared over the past year (including my car, a personal loan, etc) to the point that I no longer have those weighing down on me.
There also is a lot of excitement about my return to the biz, so I feel very confident money will start coming in fairly steadily as the biz picks up, especially over the holiday season, and since the IRS have given me a break while I get myself back on my feet, you guys are my new priority to pay off... actually guys always have been, but I've been living on donations and gifts from friends for so long I just didn't have much to give. :/
Speaking of, I've had a crazy stalker stirring up shit for some time now, as well as some asshole kickstart backers and just the general rumor mill surrounding the "devi drama train" who accuse me of still mismanaging my finances and such when they see me eating out or getting new computer parts.
The truth is I've been living off the kindness of strangers for a very long time, and often times that means people treating me to things, so yeah... I have new computer parts. I've gone out to eat sushi and see movies every now and then.
People can be really nice, and I'm a fucking human who likes nice things, so if you want to bitch to anyone about this... I dunno, yell at God or a scientist or your DNA or something.
Anyhow.
So you might be wondering what in the FUCK happened with Dwarfcraft building you guys pedals... and a hello to Ben and Aen's Wife since I'm sure some of you dick heads are going to forward this to them to further stir up drama... Fun fact you idiot fuck heads... you are the ones perpetuating this drama... I'm just trying to fucking survive.
The last I heard from Aen's Wife, we were sorting out the ability for them to get paid for parts via royalties, which we agreed would be taken off the top of $2k every month once they were able to be making that kind of money... which by now they fucking should have. There is a lot of misinformation going around about exactly how much royalties I have been getting from Dwarfcraft, and it has NEVER been enough to live off of which is why I tried my damnedest to hustle in the gaming industry... and why I ultimately had to lean on the kindness of friends and strangers the past year.
Dwarfcraft talked a big game about wanting to help me out from the very beginning but never made an effort to follow through and when we finally started working out specifics, I told them they needed to get back to me with a contract so we made sure everything was kosher, but as is usual with communicating with them on business dealings, months went by with little to no communication.
All of this came to a head the past few months when I brought up to them that I needed to supplement my income, and that if I was allowed to build just 12-16 pedals a month, under a new brand, completely new designs, it'd be enough for me to get by and get ahead.
Their reaction to this request was incredibly bizarre, and I'm not going to start quoting emails or anything, but long story short they treated me like some kind of threat to their business and outright told me no even though they had spent the past year claiming they wanted to try and help me.
It was this bizarre reaction from them, along with the general shittiness in communication and their seeming inability to really increase devi ever : fx sales that finally made me get to a point I decided I wanted out.
I offered to give them the business outright so that I could get out of their incredibly over reaching non-compete clause, but they said no.
... so I called lawyers in Oregon and Wisconsin for advice. They told me the non compete clause Dwarfcraft wrote up was not over reaching to the point no judge would uphold it, and confirmed the contract was generally pretty shitty.
Read up on it yourself. The non compete clause they wrote up was "forever and worldwide", which is incredibly unreasonable and malicious imho.
I told Dwarfcraft I wanted nothing more to do with them, and eventually decided to resurrect the name I was building pedals under when I first started back in 2002 / 2003... Effector 13.
When I have money again I will definitely be going to a lawyer to discuss further the use of my name and previous pedal names... there's a lot in regards to the contract which is honestly pretty iffy... but all that is beside the point.
I miss running a pedal business, I need to make money to survive and pay my debts, Dwarfcraft screwed me over, and that's all there is to it really.
Whether you side with them, with me, both, or neither, it doesn't really matter... this is the path I am on to getting back to financial stability, and this is what is going to lead me to paying the remainder of you back sooner than later.
On that note, if you are in communication still with Dwarfcraft about refunds, just stop... they are no longer involved in any way with me paying you guys back, and apparently they have been telling people a lot of bullshit about who and what I have or haven't paid... information they simply don't have, and definitely have absolutely no fucking right to be talking about privately or publicly.
... and in that regard, I am very fucking sorry I ever got any of you involved with that. Besides the failure of the Console itself... getting Dwarfcraft involved was my second big regret.
I'd quote the classic meme of "The ride never ends", but it will... guaranteed sooner than later now that I am back in the pedal business.
