Not sure it's a good value for the money, but it does sound pretty fat
Oh, yea, I'd never pay 500 for it. That is crazy. More like 200-250, haha (if then even...I just kinda figure it will be marked down/sold off eventually). Thanks bud, I will be on the lookout for one then...noisy is good for me...
I haven't played one...but I would lay out $250 to do so, unheard. Those sliders are most interesting, I can just about guarantee their usefulness would justify such a purchase (at that price) even if the "traditional vibe sounds" turn out being a bit off the mark.
It don't matter when you've got the means to modulate in meandering ways

That's kinda what I was thinking too. Plus with the foot speed control, it seems like it could fit a lot of places to me. Heck, might even be good with my organ/string synth or something. Slider drawing of an lfo just seems kinda cool

I was also thinking it'd be really cool for a synth board more so than for guitar. More opportunities to tweak. If anyone actually gets one, can you do a demo tweaking the wave shape in real time?

I need a cheap string synth that isn't too large. Any ideas? Also by cheap I mean like >$150. I was considering one of the little 1/4 rack Alesis synths and a midi controller?

Yamaha FB-01 (though no real editing without midi and computer and it is still a pain), Yamaha FM synths (maybe you could find one cheap, if you look hard enough maybe a roland RS-09, Roland RS-101, a soviet era string synth, Roland MSE-1, E-Mu proteus, Kawaii K series, and Siel (though a lot of people hate them, they can be had on the cheap sometimes). The Alesis aren't bad. Just throwing stuff out there...a lot of this stuff varies in price a ton They can be had for around 150-500...just gotta keep your eye peeled or find one that needs a new cord or something..I got an RS-09 for like 170 in perfect condition, but the shipping is going to be like 40...I could've probably got a better deal if I had waited and watched).
You can find good deals on em if you look.

I have major gas for all of matt's stuff. Low fuzz, airplane, pocket watch, finger print blanc and noir...
I only have a Secret Santa clone built by TuffTeef, but I fucking love the Fingerprint. Problem is that after the years I've had it non-stop on my board (three years maybe? idk) in three bands, it's starting to fall apart a bit I'd hate to ditch the handpainted enclosure, but I MIGHT need to rehouse lol
Or take some stress off it and retire it for a bit, get it together, record with it, that kind of thing. But only if I get a B:Assmaster as a surrogate awesome fuzz

Those Rolands look awesome!! I think I might end up with a Yamaha TG33 (one of the FM synths) to pair with my microbrute and a drone synth.
Unrelated, I got a Moog Ring mod the other day and holy shit is this thing cool. I've been using a Random Tone Generator as the carrier frequency and getting weird glitchy drones/tremolo effects for days and the drive sounds so good on keys.
I loved my MF102 ring mod but need to get it fixed. Thing is amazingly versitile. Still partial toward the Lastgasp and old EHX for noisy goodness. Awesome that you are using carrier signals! Really fun stuff. I played ring mod before I played guitar...Devo style. haha.
TG33 is a great synth and they've dropped in price recently (that was the whole reason I got my FB01 because it was like 1/3-1/6 of the price of a TG33 back then. It's cool as a preset synth though). I'm really excited about the RS-09 though. I think that string sound is kinda badass. Add a phaser and Jarre right there.
Cheers man. A tg33, microbrute, and drone synth is a awesome little setup.
