It does generate hype. People speculate, internet threads get started, etc. It's not super informative but it does work in generating buzz.
Sorry I didn't articulate that properly. I meant it doesn't get me hyped. Can't deny it works in general though.

I love how the first thing I noticed in the clip where the dog meets the main character, was the bobblehead. Indoctrinated much?
First thing I recognized was skill magazine on the coffee table. Also you catch the Myterious Stranger in there? I'm so happy this game seems like it is going to start with the Great War. Looks like the main character might even be that dog's original master. Poor guy. But you gotta love that nod at A Boy and His Dog.
Two things that get me though, it looks like they're still running an engine that cant handle a high number of NPCs and why are there still skyscraper type buildings standing?
This is going to be rad. It was definitely a teaser trailer for us Vault Dwelling nerds.
As I'm not familiar with American landmarks and cityscapes, I have no idea where that is supposed to be. I'm guessing from the cartoon posted its Boston after all (that's a Bostonian accent, right?)?
I'm guessing tall buildings are still standing due to the fact that not everywhere got hit as hard as say LA or Washington (as in New Vegas where Nevada is spared a lot of nuclear damage) and that if it is closer to the end of the war, then there haven't been 200 years of decay or whatever. I'm sure it will be explained in the game.
Personally, I'm looking forward to the Desert Eagle and That Gun making an appearance (fingers crossed) and seeing what enemies there will be if not mutants and ghouls.

New Vegas is hilarious to me because there are more active nuclear warheads in Nevada than other single (known) place in the world. We'd be a prime target in a time of nuclear war.

Well, technically Mr. House destroyed a bunch of the incoming nukes, which made it so that it wasn't as bad as it could be. Plus there's a bunch of active warheads in the lonesome road add-on.

I never finished lonesome road. I need to get on that.
I need to get a ps4 to play this, but that basically makes this a $500 game. UGH.

I'm right there with you...
Also, Lonesome Road is pretty sweet! The Madre Casino one I could not finish fast enough. Did not like that add-on.

I think Lonesome Road was actually my favourite of the DLC. Dead Money was just annoying and Honest Hearts was alright. Old World Blues was good too but it was more on the wacky side.
I just pre-ordered Fallout 4 on the PC. Fallout is a PC series for me. I'm not sure why because I prefer to play most RPGs on console.
I think I need to go play Fallout 3 or New Vegas to make the wait more bearable

I couldn't do Dead Money without downloading a mod that prevents your collar from blowing up and from thick clouds of the The Cloud wont hurt you. Dat fully upgraded Holorifle though, gotta love that glitch so it never degrades.

Re: The Video Game thread
Gonna roll a New Vegas character. I wanna play differently than my usual boring sniper character.
Maybe melee, sneak, speech, and explosives.

PUNCH EVERYTHING.
Srsly, Rawr's gauntlet basically kills everything in one hit, plus the jury rig skill makes it so you can repair it with any unarmed weapon.

Re: The Video Game thread
Yeah I started playing the Sierra Madre and it fucking caned my character so I didn't bother with it or the other expansion packs.
Speech is usually the one skill I try and get as high as possible.
Along with lock picking, science and energy weapons.
Repair is also worth it's weight in caps, literally.
Wondering if they'll keep the level up system or more to a more continuous thang.

the leaker states she used to work for Bethesda and was fired hence the revenge leak.

LOCATION: Fallout 4 is set in and around Boston and the surrounding countryside.
In Fallout 4, mixing things up, we are making the game more "Story Based" and the player character will finally talk, and narrate his storyline.
At the beginning of the game, you create your character (You can only be a male in the main story)
The map of Fallout 4 is about 3 times the size of Skyrim
Three Dog returns as well, although he is only heard on the radio, and not seen in person.
The first version that will be released is being developed for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC. This version uses a brand new engine built from the ground up to take advantage of the power of next gen systems.
RELEASE DATE: BGS has a "Roadmap" already planned out for Fallout 4 and a spinoff. I already was informed about it from the studio when I worked there, and I read it. Basically, the roadmap is this:
June 2015 - Fallout 4 reveal at E3, trailer only
July 2015 - First gameplay trailers
August 2015 - More information
October 2015 - PS4/Xbox One/PC release
November 2015 - First DLC
December 2015 - Second DLC, as well as PS3/360 version release
January 2016 - Third DLC
March 2016 - Forth DLC
April 2016 - Fifth and Final DLC
June 2016 - Fallout Spinoff revealed, in development by Behaviour Interactive.
October 2016 - Fallout Spinoff released for PS4/Xbox One/PC

Re: The Video Game thread
Wow, that is a pretty packed out leak as far as info goes.
Looks like it's fairly accurate so far.
I don't care about a narrated character, really. It'd be better to just give the female option if people want it.
What happened to reading and imagination?
