Happy page 500 everyone. This is plenty of guitars so you can all stop now. Just stop, we're good here.

I love Morrissey, Marr, The Smiths and I love sherwood green :success:

Need to get a Staytrem for the Jag, then I'll be content. The strings being so close to the edge of the fretboard is mildly annoying. Only mild annoyance, but still.... :grumpy:

Remember that 80's G&L SC-3 I posted a few pages back? Well as much as I like that guitar, it really made me want an old SC-2.

So I bought one! :animal:

Obviously a refin, but I really like the colour. Ocean turquoise metallic maybe? Otherwise seems quite original (although someone sanded down the powdercoated crinkle finish on the control plate). Appears to have been refretted, as the frets have essentially zero wear, but the neck is nicely worn in. The finish is almost one hundred percent gone on the fretboard too, I'm guessing that may have something to do with the fret job?

I pulled the neck off earlier, and it dates to late October of 1982, which makes it almost exactly one month younger than me, which I think is pretty cool.

Most importantly, it sounds and fantastic. The setup needed a bit of tweaking, and I haven't got it quite where I want yet, but it plays great now. I think this one is a keeper for sure.

Now for some photos; just crappy indoor ones for now.

Awesome!!
I mostly find the G&L models kinda off-looking, but this one is great!

And GrimAndBarren, what's that tremolo you got on there? It looks amazing!

Thanks! I'm not a huge fan of the normal G&L headstock, the simpler design on the 80's SC models looks way better to me. One of the main reasons I was so set on a vintage SC-2 rather than a reissue.

that is SUPER pretty, congrats. the turquoise looks awesome with the black parts.
the fretboard was probably sanded when refretting, maple necks are a bit weird to refret, it's supposed to take a bit of skill to do it and still preserve the lacquer condition.

Thanks guys! I'm thinking that I'll probably have the fretboard refinished at some point. Definitely not going to touch the back of the neck though, love that wear.

I lent my SC-3 to a buddy last weekend, and I'm not missing it too much, so I think I'm going to be flipping it when I get it back. So if anyone's interested, feel free to send me a pm.
