I'd keep the guard too. Gives it a classier look.

One more vote for putting the pickguard back on.

Thanks guys. I'm also leaning towards putting it back on. I'll throw 'er back on tonight and see how it sits. :thumb:

It's a little flamey, but that look (lines running vertical as well as horizontal) comes from how the wood was cut, which in this case is quarter-sawn. Looks very different from the regular book-matched maple flame tops, which I believe are mostly flat-sawn.

It's a 2014 Les Paul Peace in "Tranquility Blue Burst". Cheesy name, but I love this guitar. I'm actually so happy with it that I'm selling my R8, which is actually prettier, but the neck on this Peace is so perfect for my hands. Plus with the cash from the R8, I can almost put a new roof on the house. I really have no business with a guitar that expensive. I only got it because a friend gave me a good deal and let me make payments.

I might be too late to vote but I always pull the guards off LP style guitars, it's more about feel than looks tho

beautiful axe either way

NO GUARD. Looks classy as hell without it :thumb:

New PRS 408 in charcoal burst. :joy: Been wanting something super versatile like this for a long time.

And yes.... I have black PU rings on their way to me now. Beige is just.... :erm:

Signed on the back by Paul too.

^Whoa, nice!

Is the neck pickup sized like a P90, or are my eyes going wonky?

Yeah, the neck PU is narrower on purpose so the bridge PU gets a beefier tone.

I should add that both PU's are true double coils unlike a P90.

The two toggle switches let you get any combination of the PU's in humbucker or single coil.

PRS does their own thing on this model where it adds about 1500 turns to the slug coil so there is no volume drop when switching to single coil.
