Damn. That Yamaha is so perfect. It's like those colors were made for that shape.

Hey All,
Newish to the forum (long time lurker :snax: ) and trying to do more then just B/S/T stuff, so here's a photo of my #1.
Image
I have others, but this one gets played the most. Started it's life as a bog standard MIM Tele that someone had brutally sanded the body and painted crap black. I bought a scratch and dent sparkly blue body and rail pups from Guitar Fetish, and currently have it wired with a 5 way super switch for serial and parallel options and a master volume. I left on the gold eagle head glued to the headstock for the mojo :animal: .
Cheers!

So I tried out probably 10 different guitars tonight before leaving Guitar Center frustrated out of my mind. I played a few Schecters, Ibanez, LTD, Squier, a no name fanned fret 8 string, and a Danelectro Baritone.

I was so fucking disappointed at how bad all the guitars were set up. Some of them weren't even playable. I couldn't get a good jist of any that I liked.

The only one I thought, my GOD this sounds good and feel fantastic, was the Danelctro. It was amazing! I couldn't believe it! Only 400 bucks new too.

But I wanted a different one. Sigh. I'll keep trying stuff. Gotta find somewhere that actually gives a fuck about the instruments though.

I haven't been into a GC in a long time, but I would always get excited thinking "this will be the time I found something playable!" but alas: I never did.

As strange as it is -- I actually bought my last guitar (A Blacktop Jag) at Best Buy and I love love love it.

NGD! first new guitar in about a year.... it's a partscaster and doesn't fit together perfectly either but I tried it out through the guy selling it's bassman and there was no leaving it. It's an ~83 Japanese Squier Bullet neck, no-name custom tele body from 90's, fender '69 reissue pickups and the rest is just a mix of parts. It play's sooo good.

going to GC can be kind of a gamble, it's really hard to get a good picture of how an instrument plays (which to me is the most important part) if it is not well setup.

Basic setup done, already want to repaint the headstock and add an f style bigsby. It has a creamery wrhb in the bridge, and neck pickup from a silvertone Chris isaak model. Body is john 5, neck is some no name block/bound deally.
