I've got a pair of Herrings that I like and that have seen a lot of wear. Herring makes a lot of shoes for other manufacturers but a few years back started selling their own stuff. Bought them online kinda hoping for the best and it's worked out well!

You're in the UK! Find some Church's or Alfred Sargent on sale!
Meermin I've heard have some quality control issues, so would look at the above brands if you can't see them in person.

Just severely dented my shoe budget buying other clothes though... So many pretty things, not enough time/money.

Keep an eye out on eBay- I see pretty great deals on brand new Church's (and Trickers if you want something more rugged) on the reg.
But budgeting sucks.
I've been trying to be responsible and save money for my move, but I've also been like

yeah sums it up. I will keep an eye out on the bay as well, think I should be ok to buy a regs price pair when my pay check comes in but who ever complained about saving money?

Sneakers I can do - any sneakers with jeans and a t-shirt look good, but if I bought shoes like that I'd have to like, think about the rest of the stuff I'm wearing. And these days I pretty much only have jeans and t-shirts and semi-formal stuff for work. Pretty sure I'd look like a goofball in Morbid Angel T-shirt + jeans + red brogues haha.

Possible, but I don't think these are that much of a departure from an all red sneaker.
