is this possible/am i crazy for wanting to do this?

i've been kickin around this thought in my head of putting a pushbutton or momentary switch on my empress super delay for the bypass (on/off) either instead of the footswitch or in addition to. my motivation is that i'm not really a guitar player and most of my pedals are on tables so i push them with my hand. i use the super delay alot on drums and i like flipping the delay on and off a lot. the hand to footswitch is not as intuitive as a pushbutton or momentary switch would be.

i dont know jack about circuits and stuff, but i would think that swapping hte switches would be possible. im not so sure about adding a button in addition to the switch. i'd like to add the button (not replace) esp if it was momentary so i could always go back to the footswitch in the future.

i also think i might be crazy for wanting to do this to such a nice (and expensive) pedal, but i think it could be pretty cool in my work flow.

i suck with a soldering iron and wouldn't trust myself to do this. so i'd have to find someone willing and capable of doing such a thing.

am i crazy for even thinking this???

Could you use the superdelay in the loop of a feedback or effects loop pedal with a momentary switch? That way you wouldn't have to go drilling any holes in precious boxes...

That's what I do. I put my Superdelay in the loop of my CHK CHK BOOM. Momentary feedback, FTW!

Plus, you don't have to worry about voiding Empress' warranty.

for those interested: i just built one of these for the good doctor.

i'll be making more and plan to have them up on the site this month. probably this week for sure.

it'll have a switch to function like the chk chk boom as well.

they most definately should. i've used a multi-fx jawn (alesis ineko) in my utter stutter loop so it should be the same. u might get some interesting results!
