Sorry for starting that GAS with my posts in the Doom Room.

 All good, I had it pretty bad prior to your picking it up, but that pushed me over the edge.
My plan now is to fix and sell the Sovtek soon and get one.
So look out Stateside bros, I'll be hitting one of you up to trawl Craig's for me.

On the tool front, I just found out I want a tabletop router.
GAS for tools is a legit thing.
Especially for you guys that earn with them.

Wife and I got a miter saw for christmas. She works in HVAC. I work in technology. I can barely operate most power tools since I simply never need to. She does it daily. I'm pretty sure she'll be helping me make the headshell for my Beta Lead when the time comes.

I want someone to buy my amp so I can get DW's Traynor! Trying to sell gear on Craigslist and my local gear Facebook group is torture. Inhumane. Cruel AND unusual.

I wish someone here wanted a thoroughly unremarkable but loud and clear solid state bass rig.

I could take it to the local music store but they would absolutely low ball the shit out of me.

The thing is, though... I'm getting that amp. If I have to go back to a 3 pedal setup, I will have it. She will be mine.

im partial to hitachi
even the alienish lookin cheaper line
i have the 16g straight finish
its my every-day carry
i beat the shit out of it
it ends up in the rain alot
never let me down
im gonna check out the model you said
ive heard mixed things about max
and ive never seen a bosch nailer
they kind of stepped it up past few years
love that portable table saw they have now
my framing gun is for shit
its a dewalt i bought from a friend
basically brand new for $100
things been in the shop 3 times now
luckily i have a built-in 24oz framing gun
if it was my finish gun it'd be someones art project right now
definately wanna know what you end up with and thoughts
that dewalt compressor i got is the jam by the way
200psi(less fills) and quiet as hell
well worth the extra weight and $$$
what compressor you use stummy?

i've had a number of compressors over the years, but i've actually been without one for a little while. i'm back to mostly working on my own again though so i'm having to build up my tools again. (i had everything stolen a year and a half ago or so). i just bought a rolair twin tank, the bull. i love rolair compressors and it's awesome, but i might not get to keep it. long story, but i think it might have been stolen and if so i plan to help it get back to it's owner. i hope not though cause i need it and i really like it. i too have a hitachi finish gun that i love. i have the 15g angled nailer. i have another 15g, but since i got the hitachi i never use the other one. i've only seen one bosch nailgun in real life, but it was super comfortable and smooth and great to use. plus i really generally like bosch stuff and have had a bunch of it. and it'd be kind of cool to be the only guy with that nail gun.

lordgalvar wrote:I have heard some bad stuff about some of the Bosch ones but also some great things. I always preferred Senco, but they have changed factories lately. They were my favorite for years. The dudes down at the local fine woodworking and tool repair place (you know the dealers for the really high end junk...like those 30k table saws and stuff) said they still like senco despite being a bosch and paslode dealer.

Bostich are subpar. I've heard that hitachi's QC has gone down in the last 10-years as has Porter-cable's (but they are still the boring old standard I see around, but they were converted to a cheaper brand once dewalt bought them out). There is a newer company (I don't remember if it is freeman or not) that is supposedly really really good (at least for brad and pin nailers). Paslode is another one I have heard mixed reviews about lately.

I still think Hitachi is a great brand for the price though.

I will say this, I still think it relies heavy upon each individual model more than brand. So I dont know.

I love my makita hot dog compressor. Gets up to 180 quick and is quiet.

i think almost all the tool companies have gone downhill a bit as far as QC in the past chunk of time. but i've still generally had good experiences with hitachi nail guns. they're newer compressors aren't near as nice as their old ones though. i somehow ended up with like 6 different porter cable nailers at one point. they all got stolen, and honestly in a weird way i was glad to see them go. the framer actually treated me fine, though i wasn't in love with it, but all the other guns were shit. told myself i wasn't going to buy any of their stuff again. although those cheap pancake compressors of theirs are bullet proof. they're loud as hell and annoying in a lot of ways, but they do the job and last forever.

and i too love makita compressors. they're so quiet and pleasant to use. and they're fast too.

I am actually looking at some old radial arm saws or a table saw right now. I've got my miter saw I really like (don't like the stand, but it's a cheapy). My dad is trying to talk me into a radial arm over a table saw for cabinet making and future furniture building. I told him he was crazy. Any suggestions?

Kinda looking at the ear AD4096 . I want a more normal atmospheric delay/echo to pair with the misty cave. Also been looking at Tremolos for a while but I've got a kollaps coming.

if you have a mitre saw that you like then it would make a lot more sense to me to get a table saw. then you can do pretty much anything with the two. a radial arm saw mostly replicates a lot of what you can do with a mitre saw, but in a less desirable way in my opinion, and you would still not be able to do what you need a table saw to do. i love the bosch table saw, if your going to drop some money on it.

Dude, that fucking sucks. I feel like an asshole for not posting that Trinity out sooner now. I wanted to have it out to you the day before my surgery but I got tied up getting organised for everything and I've just lost days since.
It is going out tomorrow.
Doctor cleared me to drive again today, so I don't have to lean on my wife to drag my ass around.

Fuck that. I would of had a friend call and organise a meeting saying they were going to buy it all from them. Then you show up with the police. :idk: Get your stuff back and fuck them at the same time. Win win. Or just show up with a lead pipe or a motorbike chain and beat them both within an inch of thier lives, then take your tools back. Again win win.

didnt mean to whahhh up the gasparty
that was 5 years ago
ive bounced back
above and beyond now
buying something you already busted ass once for, though
goddammit
im sure people go through it with music gear, too
fuck all that stuff
and pope dont hurt yourself tryin to run to the P.O.
cant wait to try out that trinity though

and on to radial arm saws
if you need it, nothing compares
i have the newer makita 12" miter saw
its got a 16" reach on it
suppose to replace the need for radial arm saw
it doesnt
its fucking awesome
but if you gotta cut a countertop
believe me its a pain in the balls
a cabinet shop should have a radial and a table
but if you gotta choose between the two
table saw
radial arm saw does one thing=crosscut
table saw can do both, but has its limitations as well
so get a table saw
besides people be throwing radials away soon
wait for garage sale season
next miters are gonna have 24" reach and a 10" fence
and fit in your nail pouch

Am there, doin that.
It's ok man, I was waiting for one more thing to make the package complete and it's in there now.
Just gotta write you up a suitable love-letter.
Can't send an ILF package without a love-letter.

Now I'm not sure if love letter needs to be hyphenated...
