How does the Trigger In thing work on this exactly?

Basically in my head I have the idea that I would plug my Possessed into the Trigger In, and have the Possessed's glitches trigger new glitches from a DSD-2. Feasible?

I guess it doesn't truely self oscillate, but has to be triggered by a note, or chord to start regenerating.

trigger in requires a 5V pulse. a cheap 80s drum machine is the way to go for that.

I haven't gotten it working reliably yet. So far the rec/play mode acts like a hold when I press down to record...then it goes silent so I guess it is working. The guy I saw do it would record and then flip the knob to play. I think the trigger is supposed to be something like a drum machine click track. I read somewhere where people used a hand clap into a mic to trigger it. I can hear sounds through my trigger in...I will finally get to really mess with it tonight tomorrow.

I don't think it likes a constant sound Because the lfo I made doesn't do hard gate (it's a really slow sine). I guess I will try it with volca beats even though the glitchyNess of the feedback lfo was awesome. Going to have to record it.

A kollaps might work better at full depth....you'd get a different speed every time you turn it on. Unfortunately my kollaps won't be here for a few more days (and the possessed is on back order or something).

I guess a but of me is worried about burning out a buffer or something even though I doubt it would happen.

It does self oscillate though, just doesn't seem as easy to do as dd 2 or 3.

Hm, I don't think I have something yet that'll be able to trigger it then, guess I'll have to wait.

lordgalvar, how do you like your VolcaBeats? I've been thinking of picking one up lately.

Volca beats sends a trigger signal out. I like it alright. It's real fun tweaking with the stutter knobs. It doesn't fit with the style I am going for...but it is a blast. I know people make awesome stuff with it. I was better with my akai RC 50 and alesis hr16 (probably due to time used, I have like gear adhd lately). The sequencer is alright but its got that nice real time record for the stutter that is pretty cool. It is great for what it is and it is a lot of fun to play with and kinda tweak live but I wouldn't say it is more than a tool to use in conjunction with other things in a more professional environment. Like, I wouldn't play a whole show with just that as my only drum machine (unless that is what you are going for, which, like I said, I have seen people do awesome stuff with it).

I am going to compare it something like nanoloop. It is really great in giving you a structured method to focus creativity but it really good at what it does and sounds pretty good.

I'm rambling. I like it. It is fun. The stutter is awesome.

Hearing an oscillating DD-3 is what got me into pedals in the first place.
Besides that comment I have nothing clever to say in this thread.

I was wondering if it was power supply related. I know my Carbon Copy had the same issue, fixed it the exact same way.

The DSD-2/3's trigger in basically works like the pedal's button. Whenever it receives a trigger (i.e. a spike of voltage/sound), it does exactly what it would do if you pressed the pedal's pushbutton for the same amount of time.

I've been using a DSD-2 for years, my first electronic liveset a dozen years ago was just Nanoloop on an old grey Gameboy, a DSD-2 and a custom made dual LFO box that triggered the DSD-2. Awesome pedal, at least for people with analog gear. I got a DSD-3 recently (same pedal, different name) and those two work wonderfully with my modular...
