Yuval Hararis "Short history of mankind" is a definite recommendation! I'm not into science books much, but this one is amazing.

Thanks for that! If you ever want another a science book, I've read Steven Hawkings' Theory of Everything probably like 5 times since I was a lad.

Jean-Jacques Rousseau - Confessions. It's for a class, but I'm really enjoying it. What a fascinating character.

I started reading The Dice Man by Luke Rhinehart (/George Cockcroft) a while ago. Definitely captivating, I think this will be a quick read.

I hadn't heard about this before a friend told me about it like a year ago, but apparently it's a cult classic of sorts, first published in 1971.

Just about to wrap up the Forever War series.
Don't tell anyone, but Forever Peace is the best one and I haven't even finished it yet.

Read "René" by Chateaubriand today. It's like the french version of Goethe's "The Sorrows of Young Werther". Solid read. Only 100 pages or so too, for those who like shorter novels.

I've been watching Vikings lately and it's been making me want to read up on some Norse mythology. Any recommendations?

Perlstein, "The Invisible Bridge." Political history of the US 1970s, Watergate to Reagan, really gives you an idea of what it must have been like then.

The Younger Edda by Snorre Sturlason, and the Older Edda by who the fuck knows are a great starting point.

Not that many to speak of really. Poetic Edda is our go-to for norse mythology. I haven't read any english translations, but I'm going to go ahead and say that it will probably be a little hard to read. I'd recommend finding a list of Gods, creatures and characters, and their many "nicknames". Same goes for common kenning's and heiti's (complex figures of speech/metaphors). That said, if you read it you will have a good time.

Voluspå is an awesome poem about the creation and end of the world. I'd read that first. It's pretty epic. Håvamål is a poem full of life advices, and most of them are pretty funny/outdated. Trymskvadet is a mythological comedy of sorts. Involves Thor cross-dressing. Nice.

Currently reading "Hacker, Hoaxer, Whistleblower, Spy: The Many Faces of Anonymous" on my Kindle.
Good book, full of stuff I didn't know and written by a researcher very close to lots of major actors in Anonymous/LulzSec/Antisec, etc.

Probably next : Annihilation by Jeff VanderMeer and Videogame Storytelling by Evan Skolnick. I also picked up P.K. Dick's VALIS for 3 yens so I'll see if I can manage to read this one too .

I've got a long list of other things to read on the Kindle (not all bought yet), both fiction and non-fiction. This thing is really great, I'm reading much more now than I used to...
