what about the facebook rape threat
i mean,it was silly
but thats what started this whole thing
for those who missed it:
some kid orders custom emperor
gives them some kind of deposit(50%?)
emperor ships him the cab thinking check is in the mail
they either never got it or it bounced
kid doesnt respond to any correspondence
emperor employee says on FB hes comin to town to rape kid in his butt

Yikes. So they made a stupid business move (never ever ship anything before you cash the fucking check) and they threaten to rape the kid who didn't pay?
I guess I can safely cross them off my list of people to ever work with in the future, including the new company.
That was 5 years ago, plus the above story is not exactly correct.
Kid order's cab and pays deposit, sends check with remaining balance, cab ships out the day they receive the check, kid immediately after receiving shipping notification puts a stop payment on check. They go to deposit check and find out about stop payment, they attempt to contact him for two weeks to no avail. They get online and post that they are looking for anyone in his area that might now him and divulge the story. Lots of people in the area respond but nobody knows him, they also tell Emperor that they saw the cab on Craigslist a week ago, so the local kids vow to find the kid and beat him up, guy from emperor says if he was in the area he would do it himself. There was no rape of any kind mentioned (I remember the thread and read through all of it).
*edit* Also that's not what started all this what started it was the Jim Marshall post from the day he died. It was a truthful post but in bad taste and timing. That's the post that got the employee on facebook fired, then the other owner rehired him and well it all snowballed from there...

right around the first of the month we always remember all the ****************ing rip off artists that took advantage of our good nature and still owe us wayyy too much $$...and we owe them a god slap across the face like these folks

That's not the post i was referring to, the one I read through was from Richmond VA.....
Damn that dude just couldn't keep his mouth shut.....
And apparently they got ripped off by similar scams more than once, shame. Oh and btw RS I didn't think you were being a dick it just wasn't how I remembered the story. Apparently there was more than one story so we got our memories crossed hahaha

Emperor might not have done anything wrong (bad business practices) re: the bad checks. Checks can be bogus but your bank accepts them (unwittingly) and since checks normally clear in a couple days, after your bank accepts the check you assume everything is fine and ship out the goods. But it can take weeks for your bank to figure out that the funds aren't forthcoming from his bank. Merch was already delivered, and your bank isn't going to squeeze his bank for non-existent funds. Meaning the seller is screwed. So if Emperor did anything wrong, it was by accepting a personal check. But most people would probably say that was perfectly reasonable.
