Jesus Fucking Christ, this PC build is from Hell.
I'm probably going to send it to a PC tech, nothing is working and I'm tired of trying to solve issues.

Re: The Video Game thread
The small company I work for just put out a browser-based fighting game called MIGHTY BRAWLERS: http://mb.warriorgeneral.com/
Retro feel, but kind of addictive if/when you get into it.
I handled most of the sound fx and the music (remixing versions of another dude's 8-bit tune, layered in Reason synth parts).
ILF-RELATED CONTENT: Almost every sfx cue was recorded through a Hexe BitCrusher. Lots of Korg MS-20 Mini 'noise' whooshes, some Eurorack modular for squeals/lasers. Weird vocal sounds (grunts, shouts) recorded through an Earthquaker Pitch Bay. Got a lot of good synth wails using the MS20 Mini with a FreqBox and SnazzyFX Mini-Ark.
It is good dumb fun, some of you guys might dig it.

Ohhhhhhhhhh. Dragon Age Inquisition is exactly what I wanted.
It totally plays like a single player MMO, which will piss off so many people - but I love it. Looking like it's GoTY for me.

A little behind here but I just picked up Civ Beyond Earth and I'm really enjoying it, even if it is only Civ 5 in space
Also picked up Hotline Miami. I'm pretty sure someone on here recommended it and it is amazing! Absolutely loving it

Jesus, I really don't like that I need to accept the fact that every single new game is going to be more than 25 gigabytes in size now. I'm just glad that I haven't got a download cap - and i'm really amazed that since I installed my new motherboard, I seem to be downloading things at 2.8mbs rather than the 1.1mb previously.

I've already avoided a couple games that I wanted to play because of ridiculously huge file sizesAndrew wrote:Jesus, I really don't like that I need to accept the fact that every single new game is going to be more than 25 gigabytes in size now. I think a lot of them I'll just end up buying for PS3 eventually

Some of the update is free and some you need to buy the new version for (like Deus Ex HR Director's Cut maybe). 6 man battles sounds awesome... I may have to buy this a second time, especially if the online community is fragmented between old and new versions.
(still haven't finished the DLC or gone to NG+ yet
)

Jesus, finally picked up Alien Isolation on the steam sale.
It's really good. It does have it's bad, randomly exploding lights and pipes - that only happens to jump you. But in terms of aesthetics and design, this is super super good.

Re: The Video Game thread

Just fucking remake it already. I feel bad that I have bought atleast 2 digital copies of it already. They surely would have the funds to rebuild it purely on the digital re-resales of FFVII - because of assholes like me. The Steam version wasn't even good, the music was the MIDI version and the visuals consisted only of a slightly higher res Cloud and a crappy lowres backdrop.
I can only see myself playing PS1 jRPGs on a Vita now.

Yeah, that's pretty shitty.
I mean -- I love FFX and I'm happy they remade it but imagine the cash cow they'd have if they just redid the graphics for VI through IX.
ffs.
