so...not for android, but if you have a Nintendo 3DS, there's a sequencer program called Rytmik that's fun to play with. There is the standard version, which has horns, strings, etc, all the things you'd expect in a sequencer, but I got the Retrobits version, which is all 8-bit synthy video game sounds, which I'm fond of, and why I like octave and glitchy fuzz so much.

Rytmik looks kinda complicated, but it's actually pretty intuitive once you find your way around. It has a huge bank of sound samples you can drag and drop into a sequencer, to get your feet wet, but it has a full piano keyboard for creating custom sounds/notes/writing original stuff.

And it's cheap, $7 i think..if you have the 3ds (Might be for DSi as well)

Ben just buy a iPod touch. Problem solved. Use your phone as a phone and have all the apps you want in a small, usable format. I agree the lack of H9 support if very fucking annoying and I do not understand why Eventide has not done anything about it. So ridiculous. I have a friend that has made some apps and he said that the Apple apps are ten times harder to code than Android, so not sure what the hold up is? Unless they are in some 5 year non compete contract or something.

I have yet to find any really good apps on the Android. It's great at a lot of other things though. Like storing music, pictures, customized ringtones (FUCK YOU APPLE), etc. So Android wins on just those things alone.

System-side lag problems which have only been marginally solved (not sure about what Lollipop has done about that with ART though...) Besides, Android's open system makes for easier piracy, companies don't like that. Android also had a much smaller install base when the music app scene blew, so all the big names went to Apple.

yeah. same place pc's where when apple dominated the art community for desktops.

the Eventide thing has always felt like they were locked out of doing an Android developement for some monetary reason. which is ANNOYING.

ughhhhh naw on the grab an ipod touch.

01) fuck apple. so glad not to have any of their devices any more.

02) whole point of a useful sketchpad app on my phone is to only ever carry one device on a regular basis. with the games on the store and a retro emulator and a bluetooth game controller i have all the gaming i want covered, with Kindle i have boooooooks, with a 128 gig sd card i have all the musics. the time of carrying multiple devices is OVER.

THANK GAWD.

I LOVE YOU CONVERGENCE.
