Re: The Video Game thread
FUCK. I miss Skate. I just sold my PS3 and all games, I don't have it anymore. The only skating games I have left are THPS 1 & 2 on N64.
Which one was your fave Achtane? 1, 2, 3?

Re: The Video Game thread
I only played the first one, and I wasn't really that good at it, but man the physics were awesome. I loved that you could lay down on the board and luge straight into traffic.
I spent more time getting hit by cars and attacking people than I did actually accomplishing anything
Skating across a street and getting run over out of nowhere always made me laugh...

Ah yes, I used to also like finding really high points and jumping to my death...then seeing how many/what bones I broke.

Re: The Video Game thread
I LOVE the Skate games, it's actually the only reason I own a PS3. I was obsessed in high school. I used to go to my friends house and play the Skate 1 demo for HOURS before it came out. anyway 3 has the best gameplay imo, you can't get off your board in 1 which made it tedious at times. but I wish there was more map to skate on in 3, and the custom map editor is laggy for some reason, which ruins the fun for me. all three games are also pretty glitchy but I love that. I have a bunch of hilarious replays on my PS3 that I wish I could show you guys.

Sunset Overdrive is real rad. The traversal is fun and the combat gets frantic in a positive way.

Skate was so good, the 3rd really, really underwhelmed me. The previous 2 had this pseudo realism, the 3rd just felt weird and floaty. But I probably put atleast 400 hours into that franchise. I need to dig out my PS3 and find a tv to plug into.
I've heard rumours of the original Blackbox Developers were making a spiritual successor, since EA dropped them.
EDIT:
Suprisingly, Advanced Warfare seems like it's pretty cool.
