I did too.
I run each character to a certain point, then pick a main to finish the game with.
Then I would normally go back, and run each character through NVHM & TVHM.

But for some reason, it was really disappointing for me. I doubt I'll ever play it again.

I know I like a game when I get that special feeling. It's excitement mixed with compulsion to keep playing (because it's fun and interesting), regardless of the real life consequences.

I didn't get that feeling with BL:TPS. at all.
The new mechanics/features were fun (butt slam, O2, lasers/freeze).
The side quest humor was good, though they were tedious to actually do.
Had to complete almost all side missions to be on level with the story. (so you don't get one shotted)
The main story was kinda weird to me. Trying to connect the dots between 1 & 2.
.......loot was not addicting.......(for me, Diablo III and BL1 nailed the loot systems.....so addicting to play.)

It just kinda dragged on and on for me. Couldn't wait for it to be over.......I had to finish it though. at least once.
Not sure if I was just burnt out on BL2 still.....and TPS was so similar? or what....

I can't even think about BL2 anymore.....so sick of it.

Oddly, I probably have more hours in BL1 and I still love that game.
Wish BL2 and BL:TPS had more of the elements that made BL1 fun.

Hmm that really makes me want to play BL1. I never did. It was a game that I thought looked terrible at the time. I was never a fan of shooters. But then I played BL2 somewhere and had to buy it. I'm thoroughly enjoying going back through it; beating TVHM and the DLC. Fairly excited to get the Pre-Sequel as well

I still haven't beat BL2, don't know if I ever will really. Games with bullet sponge enemies and bosses just kinda drag for me :idk:

I have a goal of games I want finished before BLoodborne:

-DS2 DLCS
-Batman Arkham Origins
-Both seasons of Walking Dead (beat the first on Xbox but replaying it on computer so my decisions carry over to the second one).

This is doable but I also have hardly been gaming.

I think I've played nearly 20 hours of Diablo 3 since Sunday. I would be playing right now if it weren't for server maintenance.

BL1 is nothing like BL2. imo.

BL1 can be a bit slower paced, beige, skill trees aren't as elaborate, and not as much story.....unless you read all the mission cards........well, even then there isn't too much.

I think BL1 excels at loot, level design, character personality, subtle deviant/darker humor, tone, look, and feel of pandora, guns feeling powerful, and keeping things interesting through varied mechanics in different areas.
It's very much a loot and shoot game.......

BL2 made a lot of improvements on BL1 (some that I like and some that I don't).....auto pick up, mini map, vehicles, better launchers, better shields, better grenades mods, interesting rare guns, a story, etc....
....but to me, removed the raw and pure fun of BL1. I want to feel like a badass, and I want to find good loot all over the place.
If BL2 had built on what made BL1 great.........BL2 would have been completely amazing. The BL2 story, the improvements, and the great loot system and feel of BL1.

My brother in-law found BL1 pretty boring....but he's into Halo (which is WAY too fast for me). So it's not for everyone.

To me, BL1 works because you're a lone badass on a wasteland of a planet in search for treasures. that's it. No need for complicated story arc.
The DLCs were real good too.
(it sorta feels like they took my favorite game franchise and drove it into the ground :()

odontophobia, what class are you playing in D3? I've got some interesting sets on my monks, anything else I just putz with.

But, the WoW 6.0 Warlords prepatch sucked me back in, we got Mythic Garrosh last week and almost got a full 1 night clear yesterday.

I'm playing a Crusader right now. Just hit Act IV last night. I'll probably clear through normal mode tonight/tomorrow night. Didn't get a chance to play last night. :(

I was really close to going back to WoW but I find that since my account from years ago was hacked and that I didn't play that much back then that going back would be like playing the game for the first time. Couple of guys at work were interested in playing but two of them have been pretty heavily invested in Diablo so I'll probably start playing with them more once I get through my first play through.

That said... Crusader feels fucking invincible in normal mode so far. My god.

GoG is rad. Downloaded Arcanum from them a while ago for like $3 or something.

Also, this whole GamerGate thing is brain explodingly stupid. Makes me sad that I enjoy video games. :picard:

Yeah this is why I don't tell people I play games, I want no association with those awful people. Can't we just all enjoy videogames? No?

To me "gamergate" seems to be some jilted dickbutt rallying a bunch of other jilted dickbutts to harass people. If it wasn't about video games it would be about some other stupid shit.

If you like video games, cool, play em. If you don't, ignore em, who cares.
