Thanks Skully! I actually got the idea to do an LP pickguard from your Telebird :joy:
Obulus wrote:I love the tele pickup in there! I need to get on with modding my jag once I have time and cash. It's my first guitar I bought myself but I never play it anymore, so I should definitely mod it and start playing again!

This guitar has been a total joy to mod, and to play. I highly recommend replacing those dirty humbuckers with something single coil. Really brought this axe to life!
monkeydancer wrote:Shit, I love the look of the LP pickguard, what a great idea!!! Very cool stuff, might try that myself.

Do it! It's surprisingly easy if you know how to run a Dremel (which I still really don't ;) ) Just make sure to use a record you don't care about! I went through my ragtime 2xLP on the first two drafts. I'd like to make a little bit cleaner one with a Ventures album (whenever I find another copy of one I already have) or maybe even my favorite ND band Atom's Rite (seriously awesome band), those are a little bit harder to come across though. I would feel like the devil if I ruined one of their limited press records.

NGD! Jackson Adrian Smith signature SDX. I'm 32 years old, have been playing guitar for over 20 years, and this is the first time I've owned something with a Floyd Rose on it.

I'm also 32 years old and have been playing for approx 20 years, I've never owned a guitar with a Floyd Rose. In fact, I've never owned anything remotely close to a 'metal' guitar. Lately I've been thinking that maybe I'm missing out on something?

I play in heavy bands and constantly try to make aluminium necks and p90s and stuff work and like... Why not just buy something meant for the job?

I like Floyds. I don't know what the fuck I'm doing with them but they're fun. Don't take it seriously and it'll be cool.

Kings, black icemen are the only icemen. How do you like the bridge in that one?

just kinda scrape your thumb LIGHTLY across the string as you pick it. But remember, With great pinch harmonics comes great responsibility. Just because you can, does not mean you should.

Just use a stubby pick and have the tip of your thumb just level with the tip of the pick. Keep practicing. It will come.
