Such a cool bassist and singer, one of the two 3rds that were actually good about Cream

I remember getting introduced to Cream in a smoked out room with a lava lamp, tesla thingy to play with and a strobe going, the acid hit right when my buddy put it on. I dug it.

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Father in law played in a band with him when they were kids, by all accounts he was streets ahead of the other musicians around at the time. RIP dude.

Been gloomy since hearing this. Dude was one of the major reasonps I got into bass. I'm still trying to find ways to cop his tone. Damn shame, he was way too young.

At the same time, it's impressive that he lived to 71, given the general lifestyle decisions and such.

But, yeah, still crazy bummed. Been listening to Cream in pretty constant rotation since. Best rhythm section ever, particularly compared to their immediate contemporaries.

Awesome bass player. Cream were awesome. I also hear he was a much nicer guy than Ginger Baker. But then again most people are nicer than Ginger Baker.
