Brief Lives are a VA-based post-punk band (lots o' Dischord-type hardcore influences, and nods to Jawbox/Burning Airlines) fronted (now) by Valient Himself, from Valient Thorr. I saw these guys play a day-show at Hopscotch this year, and they brought the proverbial house down. I almost wish they had filmed this with a live audience, because the band really seems to thrive on the live experience, but the music is totally on point.

I ended up chatting with these guys a bit at Hopscotch, particularly the guitar player (had a great long pedal nerd-session that pretty much drove everyone else away), and they were super-nice dudes, which is always a plus...
