late 50's Silvertone 1304. A favorite player, and that middle pickup position gives it quite the unique tone.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!

Maybe some of you remember, I mentioned that I was refinishing my partner's MIJ jag as she wanted it to look like the thurston moore signature jazzmaster.
wet sanded and polished the body and then rewired everything with cloth wire - restring tomorrow and a setup before we go to rehearsal!
So happy with how it has turned out.
Next step is the maple neck with black block inlays and binding

Was that mix from a brand of stain, or did you witchcraft that out household MacGuyverings?

Yeah, atm i'm actually looking for the replacement rosewood saddle that I bought for the 1416....i hate when things get moved without my prior consent. Anyways, there is something special about their hollow bodies, material, rosewood saddle, metal nut, and them lipstick pups that really puts out a unique sound that draws me towards these old silvertones....i've got quite a few. The thing about these vintage lipsticks is that they are low output, so...for instance they are not going to push my vibro champ into that delicious distortion. But its nothing drastic otherwise and they work great with pedals. in fact my main guitar is a silvertone 1448, which came with the 3 watt tube amp in case...another treat for the ears. Its not quite 3/4 scale but its such a comfortable player. its odd, but not one of my silvertone's are the same scale length.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
It started off as a fairly crappy colour from a paint store, I mixed it to taste and got pretty close.
BUT, we found it was too cool in shade so I then put about 7 coats of shellac over the top and it made it really come out.
Very happy with it - I'll get some better photos tomorrow once it's strung and you'll be able to see just how nice and rich the colour is!

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
I always forget that those are different scale lengths. The single pu versions are 23" or something like that, yeah?
