I probably wouldn't pay over $500 for a fuzz, but if it caught me at the right time and had a twinkle in its eye...maybe.

Um. yes. As far as I know Ibanez has never taken the TS out of production, EHX has never taken the muff out of production... Fuzz face has hardly gone out of production...
But that's ok because their the big boys...
Yeah...

As long as it's not sold as the same thing (hey this is an openhaus) and as long as the PCB artwork is unique then it's A-ok according to the both the law and in my opinion morally.

Also, jwar is not talking about cloning. He's just being honest in that it's based on something, which pretty much every fucking pedal on the market is.

Even though the most I've ever spent on a fuzz pedal is $90 for my mid 2000s Russian Big Muff Pi (which has never left my board and is on quite often) I'd probably go to between the $200 and $250 range for something amazing. I mean, if I didn't spend so much money on modulation pedals I'd be buying out all of Death by Audio's stock. But +1 on UG's feedback idea, you might as well make the pedal like a moog for maximum expression capability. :animal:

So yes similar in features as a Toneczar pedal but not the same at all. Haha. They are the only company I know that is close to what we are going to do though. No cloning though. Based on an older circuit with some bad ass features that will make it super usable.

UGH! In a month or two I'll spill the beans. I just wanted to know what people thought was a fair price point for fuzzes.

Is that the initial inspiration? Because if it is even slightly related, only with fuzz and more adjustments and other stuff, I'd figure it'd be worth a solid $250 if not more.

200ish is the most i've paid for a dirt pedal. though around 180 is usually where i top out. black arts and eqd and all that stuff is around 140-180 which is a cool price for a new fuzz, unless it gives me a back massage or something. i've owned pedals that were worth more and loved them, but only cause i got a good deal on them and i haven't kept any of them cause i couldn't resist the flip when i've been broke. i played a deluxe meathead for a bit in a tour box and i fucking loved it, but i was like, for 300 bucks, i just can't see it. great pedal and congrats to them for getting that price for it, but i'm a regular working stiff and i just can't do that for a fuzz. even though i'm a gear nerd working stiff. i think if you want to hit the "normal working folk musicians will buy this" price point, it's gotta be under 200 for a dirt. at 200, most of my friends are like, that's a cool pedal you bought, but i can find a something good for 150 and pay my car insurance this month. and these are folks that are picky about tone. they just have regular working jobs.

That was a rhetoric point and has nothing to do with the reality of what Jwar is cooking up! Sorry for the confusion.

But don't worry, the dude knows fuzz, and Roy's PCBs are superb. So this is going to be :yay:

I'm not sure where my Limit may be...
I really Dig pigdog and DAM stuff. They work really well in my setup / with my playing. So the more i have of These the more i'm willing to Pay for the next One.

Reading the specs of this One so far i would say 180$ would be appropiate for me.

The most I've ever paid for a fuzz was something like $280ish I think. But it wasn't worth it. I really don't see myself spending more than possibly $100-120 on a fuzz now a days, although if it had a featureset unlike any other I might be tempted to go up to $150.

Now another question. If you could control one aspect of a fuzz pedal with expression, what would it be? My thoughts are sustain, from almost none to infinite (well not really, but a long ass sustain).
Would depend on what the controls of the pedal are to be honest, and what the pedal is/does. Again, too broad a question - I have some pedals where if I could externally control anything it'd be gain level, others starve, others some random setting, still others a blend.

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

True. I know I'm being vague.

Ok fuck it.
So what will be included

Awesome thick wall of fuzz
Full band Eq with ( low, lo mid, hi mid, treble), all controllable with pots

So you can dial in lows and highs and not have to eq with a separate pedal at the end of your chain.

So now comes the expression control question. I really like the idea of sustain...but what else do you guys like?
