What kind of Amps are you guys playing with the EGC?Since they are overly bright, a darker sounding amp would sometimes be a good choice, what do you think?

Mine isn't overly bright at all. I use a variety of amps and they all sound fucking great with that guitar.

My V is fairly bright, my double-neck isn't so bright. On the V my pickups are pretty high output and the double has PAF level pickups so I think a lot depends on what you get with it...Kevin's got a lot of pickups. I'm running into an non-master Electric and a master Matamp as my main amps so they're a bit darker but I'm running EV's so that kinda changes all of that.

If I were to buy one, I would think of it as buying a guitar to end all guitars. Like, it'd never break/warp/etc. I don't know much about them, but I'd imagine an aluminum guitar could be an heirloom.

That's my attitude as well, but EGC are an exception to how I would normally feel, which is that £2000 is an awful lot of money to put into one piece of equipment. Kevin's guitars are something you can pass down to your children. Their popularity is only going to grow. I can see their guitars being as big as Tom Anderson and James Trussart, but it does depend on whether they can get a hold of their wait times and whether they want to set up a few distributors throughout the globe.

But honestly, my Japanese Edwards is still the best guitar that I have ever played - maybe because i've had it for so long and i'm used to it, but eh?

Yeah, man, I get ya. I've found some glorious guitars half that price and feel quite happy with them. Japanese guitars are good like that.

They certainly don't have the market of good sounding guitars cornered but they're just different...much more than the typical switch from Fender to Gibson. One of the things I appreciate is how they not only handle very high volume but if you're playing in front of multiple cranked 100+watt heads the resonance of these guitars is incredible..they really become alive.

Yes, their sound is bright, but rich and full-bodied, also really bassy if you use them detuned.
To make an exemple, here you can take a listen to a Standard Series I and a Standard Series II baritone, drop A# tuning, Sunn/Fender 4x12 cabs, '70s Model T and Laney Klipp.
