Dudes, glad the forum is undead. I was fiendin' for some gear talk.

On that note, I replaced two of the Electeic Lightnings in one of my Orange 412s with Eminence Wizards and HOLY SHIT. Those wizards can move some fucking air, and they growl something fierce with the V4. That can now fills out the spectrum so nicely when paired with my v30 loaded cab. If you're hunting up some new speakers, I can't recommend wizards highly enough. Crazy loud and voiced just right for the sludgy tones.

Also, any biker folks rolling into CO for Love Thy Chopper? Playing with a rad lineup. Can't wait. Then doing it up with our buds in Primitive Man a week later. July gon' be a good month.

I'm a big fan of the Wizards. I have a 212 with a Swamp Thang and Wizard, and it's god damn beautiful.

I have been thinking about trying to sell the Silver Bells in one of my cabs to fund some new speakers. Something along the lines of some 55hz reapers or something that will handle a lot of low end. Just not sure if there are better options.

Though it certainly depends on the amp as well, IMO Wizards are awesome and have a chunky low end/low mid roar to them. The other guitarist in Khemmis has em in one of his cabs and uses a Carvin X100B with similar thick tonal results. My old 612 had 4 Wizards and 2 Swamp Thangs and could move some serious air.


Also, re: Christian's comment about BAT, I've been surprised at how finnicky the ones I have are with regard to amp choice. My Quantum Mystic and Revelation both do not sound good with my V4, but my Badascan sounds great with it -- best tone I've had. Similarly, the QM works really well with the Sunn, but the Badascan is meh with it.

Their really interesting cabs, I doubt it will be perceived as loud but the frequency response is probably pretty killer. For a single cab rig thats not at doom volume levels its probably pretty sick.

You need to get a really high power SS head..... So I can run the Naki and the GT200 Simultaneously.

Their really interesting cabs, I doubt it will be perceived as loud but the frequency response is probably pretty killer. For a single cab rig thats not at doom volume levels its probably pretty sick.

If you want to sell a single Silver Bell, I haven't decided yet but I'm interested in using one for my Dunwich combo. I know it can be a pain selling an odd number of speakers so I understand if you'd rather sell them altogether, if you are considering letting them go. I'm looking for something warm, full and chunky. I don't want a super efficient speaker, but I don't want a quiet one either that breaks up too much. What wattage are your Silver Bells?

I dig the lines thing those pedals got going on. I especially love when etchers find a particular niche that is unique to them. Not to say lines could be your 'thing', I'm just saying it for conversational sakes.

I've noticed most etchers do have a style that they excel at. Acid splash does those all over designs that impress the shit out of me. i think the other guy goes by Laowiz? His style is very recognizable. and DanDubbleEwe has a pretty crisp style but also does those color wraps that I don't.

I'm simple. Black Spray paint, clean lines. I've done so many cthulhu or wizard fuzzes for nick and Lopan etches for Fuzzrocious Ryan now that I know exactly what to look for for those. Lately I've been pushing myself to try for more photo realistic images. The fuzzrocious dracula is one of my favorites. Also reverse etches. The difficulty in not destroying the image (especially a fine line) is fun for me. (the reverse HM-2 etch i did for nick was a bit of an experiment that I was sweating over while doing it.... i just didn;t tell nick that til now. )

LaoWiz has a particularly distinctive style.

800w each side into 4ohms and u just add more power amps as you add cabs!

I actually have an extra one. Awhile back I thought i blew a speaker and ordered a new one. Before I swapped it out I realized that the buzzing was from one of the screws came loose. Tightened it up and it fixed it.

Its a 75 watt version.
