So, I got it today. This thing can really go far over the top. Had to back it off alot for it not to swallow my echorec. The most extreme settings can sound kinda artificial, but I can't really see my self using them anyway. Surprised by the range of it, everything from room to space. The modulation is just right, not too much but still noticeable. I like it. I like it alot.

Glad that you are satisfied with the Supermoon, you're right about the range of the verb. It's the perfect small reverb pedal for my Pedaltrain Mini when I just want the basics: tuner>fuzz>od>modulation>delay>reveb.

Crank everything on the chrome and put it before a fuzz for shoegaze heaven. I put mine before my Great Wall and threw a tremolo after it and I was blissed out.
I sometimes wonder if I'd like the regular Supermoon more but I'd hate to give up the extended decay time.

I had tried a Super Moon a while ago, and loved it, traded it for whatever reason. Got an RV3, which has some overlap with the Super Moon, so got rid of the Super Moon again, then got rid of the RV3 for whatever reason. Sad panda. There's just something about it that I enjoy. Really curious of the chrome version.

I want a chrome Supermoon and a gold Eterna. And a Tunnelworm. And a Downward Spiral. :snax:
So many cool looking/sounding non-dirts from that fella.

I'm thinking the Nano Holy Grail, which I now know to be the pedal that's been on your board the longest, might have something to do with that whatever reason.

Did this earlier today. 'Twas bliss.

With ya on this one. That was my favorite thing about the Spring Chicken w/Dwell. When cranked it sounded so angry. I still long for the expression-pedal reverb blasts since selling it :(
But I found the best of both worlds in the Van Amps Reverbamate I'm currently using...because it can output wet-only with high dwell settings separate from the direct out. Running that *real spring verb* (it's already kinda dark & dirty compared to other springs) into dirt/eq (The Elements is ideal here!) makes for a great departure from the typical Fender/Vox combo amp tank sound.
It doesn't self-oscillate but still gets huge and drippy...and with an expression pedal+Elements, very flawed in a good way.
I plan on putting a volume pedal in the chain, post-wet....so the verb can be brought in/out on a gradual taper. :snax:

How does this pedal compare to the EQD Ghost Echo?

i had the chrome at the same time as a Ghost Echo. IMO, the Ghost Echo is darker in tone and has that attack that gives it a slapback splashy feel. the Supermoon is brighter and has more decay. both are capable of giving you pretty deep reverb tones, it just depends on what extra flavors you want with your verb. at the time, I used the Ghost Echo in place of my amp reverb and used the Supermoon as a noticeable "effect".

I'd been considering getting a Van Amps for quite some time, they look really neat. I got this Peavey Envoy 1x10 combo right now that has a tank in it when I've wanted some real springs, I've been kicking it when I want it to splash ahah

I got the Reverbamate because it has the dual outs, the hardwired direct dry and then the wet-only (Sole Mate has a single output). So while I need a 2ch amp (or pedal with stereo inputs) to use it...I think it opens up whole other options, especially for recording applications. And yes, you can kick it :hobbes:

I gotta say though, the DBA reverb thread inspired me last night....to try feeding the wet out into the Elements+expression pedal, and it's like a revelation. Low level yet high dwell reverb in heel-down, then adding gain to glorious washed out 'gazing sounds in toe-down. It's like a combination volume/gain pedal. The clipping/eq options are ideal for getting the reverb to fit with whatever fuzzbox is active. Flawed-sounding in the best way imaginable :snax:
