I dont have any glitching issues and my current bass amp doesn't have a drive channel. Most dont.

Transformers have very little to do with whether you can tweak an amp to your liking. Thats mostly controlled in the preamp.

Lots of the currently manufactured bass amps seem to though, that's what I was pointing at, I think in the clips I heard the B7K seems to sound quite similar to the drive channel of those type amps but I haven't played it myself so I'm not sure.

Sorry for the confusion, not speaking my mother's tongue here, I meant tweak as in how it's built, the tweaking the amp builder does, which components and values to use where, wiring, etc. etc.

Yeah, I was truly surprised how good every setting sounds. I'm used to 2-channel high gainers that sacrifice the clean channel but not the case with the Decolonizer. I discussed that a lot with Alex before deciding what to get. I find myself using the clean and OD settings most frequently, then pushing it with pedals but the high gain is really something to behold and always there if I need it.

Ugh, I've been thinking about the Shiv for awhile now. It doesn't help that Alex randomly came into the guitar shop I work at and we talked about amps and shit for like an hour and after finding out more about it I just want it MOOOOOORE. Now look at that combo. guh.

Schnikes are you still loving the shiv? Have you made any clips/recordings with it?

I haven't recorded any clips but I have quite a few Alex sent awhile back. I can send those your way for sure.

I really love that amp tho. Great variety, gorgeous chimey cleans with single coils, excellent low-mid gain tones (really shines here!) and a pretty tight and saturated high gain with humbuckers. That said it'll get loose and raunchy sounding as well, sounds like a beefed up vintage amp when gain gets cranking. Nice and loud for 30 watts and EQ and voicing options are useful and make for drastically different results. Loves pedals in the clean channel, absence control eliminates sizzle nicely. Great amp all around.

Glad to hear you're still liking it! I emailed Alex, waiting to hear back and hopefully he'll send me some clips. Meanwhile I will spend my time daydreaming of different tolex/woodstain combinations

I figured you would be a Shiv guy. Or the Street Sweeper. The other guitar player in one of my bands really wants a Shiv. The clips I've heard of it are most excellent.
