You must have missed the last page where we concluded that T.Rex rules.

Man, I'm lucking to be an old dude. My first experience seeing live music was when I was 13. My sister took me to a place called East Gate Live in College Station, TX which was a tiny venue. It was Fugazi's first tour before they had put out there first EP. It was a complete mind fuck. I had chills the whole time, it was so amazing. Guy was just doing back up vocals at the time. The energy was so fucking elevating. I had already discovered hardcore and punk but had no idea seeing live music could do that to you. It was so loud but perfectly mixed.

I saw them several times after that. Once in Dallas and a few times in Austin. Amazing live band. Just sitting outside of Liberty Lunch in Austin listening to them sound check during the repeater tour was mind blowing. Part of it has to do with being so young at the time but that doesn't really matter because they were things experienced and they will always be imbedded in my mind forever.

For me, it's a toss up of songs from the first and 2nd ep's, a bit of Repeater, a bit of Kill Taker, and a bit of Red Medicine. Going to crank up Fugazi's now!

I had tickets for the last tour they ever did of Australia in 97 and didn't go for some stupid reason like I really needed to do homework.

This kinda funny. I just repurchased like two of their albums. After losing my collection years ago. Along with a couple of The Jesus a Lizard albums. Sweet memory's jamming out to these guys.

Repeater, first album I heard by fugazi (just to support that theory) :)

While not a massive fan of the later work, been giving the argument some time and it's starting to grow on me.

Still the only person who voted for Kill Taker.

But! Fugazi's entire discography is on bandcamp now so anyone that's looking to listen to them:

I find the first demo's version of Waiting Room really, really rad.

Killtaker is a great record. One of the first records that rocked me that wasn't some sugary-slick skatepunk or 80's thrash metal.

The first half of The Argument is joyous. The 2nd half trails off a bit IMO, but Cashout, into Full Disclosure, into Epic Problem might just be my favourite three-consecutive-album-tracks of all time. Love that pure-pop chorus in Full Disclosure. Mackaye's falsetto, Picciotto's weird English accent. Phwoar.

See I just had a bit of a 'turning into an old man' scare because I think The Argument might be my new favorite in the six way tie for first that is ranking the best Fugazi records.

Thanks !
That will be so useful at work (where I can't bring my music on USB drives because security, which means I have to rely on stuff online and bringing my own CDs to rip).

Tough to vote. Probably End Hits or The Argument.

13 Songs is boring...they got so much more interesting when Guy started doing more. Early Fugazi...Good memories, though, of jamming 2 12" PA cabs behind my backseat so I could blast Public Witness loud as fuck. Definitely some bangers on the early stuff, just not that groundbreaking.

Target? Long-Distance Runner? Caustic Acrostic? Break? Foreman's Dog? Guilford Falls? EPIC PROBLEM?

Damn that is a great combo. Probably listened to those three more than any other at this point...

Also, notable for being the best band to never use fuzz.
