It's seems to be pretty garden variety oblivion seeking. Some people are genuinely unconcerned with their own health -- which is kind of hypocritical of me to say, since I smoke + drink + so on, but still.Iommic Pope wrote:Ah man, that's fucked.ryan summit wrote: the dealers are sprayin it on tar H to make it stronger
Also, you guys all speak the truth.
Whiskers, regarding bath salts, it has been really hyped up down here, we're kinda of going through a media beat up period with it at the moment. So I'm sure most of what I'm hearing is misinformation. If the physiological reaction of the body is as reported though, I'm baffled as to why ANYONE would think that shit is ok or a good idea to take.
Just go get Ebola or some shit.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
As far as I've ever heard from news reports, the whole krocodil thing isn't intentional on the part of the users. It's basically fake heroin, crushing up opiates in pill form (like codeine, which is a lot easier to buy/steal) and breaking it down with kerosene or lighter fluid. So it looks like heroin, it gets you high right away and is really cheap to make, but it's completely toxic and kills all the flesh where it's injected. So when Russia had a shortage of heroin, drug dealers were making it as a counterfeit heroin of sorts to keep money flowing and it had nasty consequences. As far as I know nobody is seeking it out to do it as a drug on purpose. Kind of like those stories you hear about people cutting coke with rat poison and stuff like that. So it's only a big concern if you're a heroin addict and you don't know exactly where your drugs came from. Which...who does? Unless you're shooting up outside a poppy field in the middle/far east. Long story short, it's kind of a bad idea to do heroin or trust people who sell heroin on the street...duh.

yeah I caught them in Orlando Saturday, and they destroyed. Close to like 100 people crammed into a place meant to hold less than 50 going apeshit. Yautja was also insanely good. And dude had on a Kowloon Walled City shirt, so bonus points to him. Highly recommended to the world.christianatl wrote:Thread cleaner:

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Hey folks, been a few weeks since I stopped by to say hello. I've been kinda busy and haven't had the chance to catch up with everyone. Hope y'all are doing well. And no, D.o.S., I'm not dead yet.

Anyway, I thought it would be cool to ask the opinions of the Doom Room on a small visual change I was thinking of making to the Dunwich amp Nick is building for me. It's just a slight tweak to the faceplate design and I'll include the two to compare below. Let me know which one you prefer. It makes no difference either way, it's just an aesthetic alteration I thought of making to Nick's original boss idea.
Basically, all I've done is move the position of the text to above the EQ1 and EQ2 switches, to better correspond with the two separate Bass and Treble tone stacks, one Baxandall and one FMV. You can select which EQ is active, turn both on at the same time, or turn both off for a more direct circuit path and a slight boost in volume. Or we can leave them where they are, to the right of the respective switches.
Original design:

Tweaked EQ1/EQ2 decal position:

And the backplate for fun:

Thoughts?

guy in new York had to be tackled down by a group of cops, he was naked and slicing off pieces of his skin throwing it at the cops and also disemboweling himself.

Actually watched a documentary where the users were making it for themselves cause it was far cheaper than herion and once you do it once it's actually so painful to quit you just give up and shoot up more regardless you know you have about 1-2 years left.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
Even though it's an extreme example, that kind of thing is the reason why I don't do drugs, smoke and even cut out caffeine. I hate the idea of some biological craving for something I don't even need overriding rational decision making. The fact that people will pay money to do things that will eventually make them sick and die (usually painfully and/or expensively) just boggles my mind. I hate the idea of being beholden to anything, instead of doing things by choice. That's why I have money to spend on gear and remodeling our house and paying for medical bills out of pocket. I don't make that much money, but I don't have any vices or spend my money on expensive nonsense that has no practical use.ShaolinLambKiller wrote: Actually watched a documentary where the users were making it for themselves cause it was far cheaper than herion and once you do it once it's actually so painful to quit you just give up and shoot up more regardless you know you have about 1-2 years left.

Do any drugs you want, just do them in moderation. If you can't do that, don't do drugs of any sort.

Re: The Doom Room: ILF Edition
I can do pretty much anything in moderation, I just don't see the point personally because I'm not getting anything out of it. My wife gets kind of mad at me actually, because I seemingly have the willpower to quit anything cold turkey or moderate anything without issue. Before I quit smoking I just smoked 2 cigs a day for a year, before I quit drinking I just had a couple beers a week when I bbq'd. It was really hard for her to quit smoking and drinking before we started trying to get pregnant and I had been trying to get her to quit smoking for years. I am super obsessive about other things though, I guess I'm just selective about what I want to let myself be obsessive with and prefer to channel it into productive things like music or making things, instead of just spending money to create a feeling or sensation when I have plenty of feelings and sensations as a result of doing things I enjoy mentally and emotionally. I never have a problem having fun or enjoying what I'm doing when I hang out with friends, watching movies, listening to music or whatever, so it's just not an issue. I'm not morally against drugs or alcohol though. I think more things should be legal, but individuals should be more responsible and self aware about the choices their making and what the consequences are. I know a lot of people who've had personal/legal fallout from drugs and alcohol who I don't think are addicts at all, they just go along with party culture because it's the norm for people in their 20's at this point and they don't question it. In my opinion that's the real problem most people have in life, being self aware and making decisions for real reasons, instead of just following the flow of what everyone else is doing, what's expected or what's easy in the moment.emptyparadigm wrote:Do any drugs you want, just do them in moderation. My area is currently undergoing a heroin epidemic and we're talking high school age kids too.
