You are. Even if you don't realize it. We all are. It's your destiny.

I'm not that much into Drone. Earth is one of the only Drone bands I LOVE.

So it's not the best quality but if any of you were interested in the destroyer into the pharaoh here it izzz. It sounds a bit muffled when I first kick the pharaoh on in the first bit but it sounds really massive over here.

Check out Radiance of Shadows or Thaumogenesis to start. Nadja's fucking awesome.

Also it's hilarious that Bossk likes Nadja since Aidan Barker doesn't even use amps.

You guys all fucking rule! So many good suggestions here and a surprising amount of stuff I have not yet explored. I love it when the DR gives me homework  :thumb:

I think Earth would be the logical next step. Not sure why I didn't think of that on my own  Gotta go slow with this, you cant ram music down people's throats, you have to introduce them, let them get to know each other, wait for the interest to bloom and then when they start asking for more, then you hit em with the god stuff.

As for my admittedly poor attitude towards jazz, I think it's the "look how smart we are" thing that turns me off, and that may be unfair as it's the people I was exposed to who were like that. When I do hear some decent jazz stuff, I'm always thinking it would be better with some fuzz on it or slowed down or a heavier beat or etc. The whole Improvising within the structure of the song thing too, NOT EXCLUSIVE TO YOU GUYS JAZZ SNOBS! We all do that. No need to put it on a pedestal. And stop wearing those fucking hats! It's not 1920 and you are not outside! Ok, sorry but that.
I WILL be listening to all the suggestions that were made. Even if I end up not liking it, musical recommendations from you lot are always interesting and educational , and way more often than not, I do end up liking

Nick! Awesome rad shit as always! Looks like that was a fucking cool time man. You are proof that working your ass off at something you love leads to badassery. I'm really kicking myself for not going for the HM in addition to the VT. Next preorder i guess

Bossk, No Sabbath?!!

Bad Bossk, Bad. Lie down. Now think about what you've done.

Sabbath was the hinges on the door that opened the way to ALL things heavy. Would the door have opened without them? Yeah, probably, but maybe not in the same way or same time. That band was not the only band going down that road, but they were the ones who made it happen. Children of the grave should be required listening for all sentient beings. In fact, I am going to buy a kayak so I can paddle out into the sound and play it to some Orcas.

I respect Sabbath for their historical significance, but I don't choose to listen to them very often. (Ditto Cream, Hendrix, Zeppelin, various blues players, Van Halen, Metallica, etc.) Sleep is just not interesting to me at all, nor is anything that those players have done post-Sleep. Actually, about 90% of the music that gets recommended here doesn't excite me. I am a picky picky bitch. (And to be fair, you guys do better than the sevenstring.org crowd, largely because I have no interest in even *trying* to listen to most prog-metal or tech-death. Or any type of death metal, generally.)
If you bring forth what is within you, what you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth what is within you, what you do not bring forth will destroy you.
-The Gospel of Thomas

Listen to Bohren Und Der Club of Gore - Midnight Black Earth!!!!! Its dark ambient jazz set to doom tempos. Logical next step towards slower darker music.
