Just switched back to these after using the .96s for a long time. Feels weird.

When I first started out I used the tortex 2.0mm ones and the Big Stubby 2.0's. Then over the years went down to the 1.14mm's. For a long time the pitch black Jazz III's were great because I did a lot of hybrid picking and they had more control for that. Recently, though, I found a random "EVH" pick and really loved it. I bought a pack of the Herco Flex 50's because that's what it's based on and I don't want to pay 12 dollars for 12 "EVH" picks. They're just as awesome and it's really had a huge impact on my playing.

I have a handful of jazz ii's around, but honestly I haven't been using a pick for a few years now. I just switch between a pick motion or rudimentary finger picking.

I cannot believe I spend $5 on a pick, but they really are that good. I recently got a few of the three pointed ones and love them. They come fucking thick, too...

yeah, i initially baulked at the price, but they last for ages and ages, i havent had to stop using one yet and as far as i can tell they still have the same sound and feel.
with the tortex and ultex i find that they get worn and dull quite quickly

I used the 1.14mm regular shaped Dunlop Ultex, purple tortex and the Jazztone 207s for quite a while, but about a year and a half ago I started carving picks out of scraps of rosewood, burled walnut, and ironwood, and I made a bone pick out of some left over pet store cow femur after cutting some nut and saddle blanks. I tend to make them around 3mm in the center, and they taper out to a little less than 2mm on the playing edge. The bone pick has been my favorite of the bunch since I made it around a year ago, and I'm amazed I haven't lost it yet. It took a while to figure out how to use it and control the chirpy attack, but now I can get a good deal of control and a nice range of tones out of it. I switch to the wood picks when I want something a bit rounder sounding. Lately I tend to hybrid pick just about everything, too, so I've been growing my nails out a bit on my picking hand, but I like to keep them short enough that I can still use just my finger tips, too.

My mainstay has always been the dunlp tortex picks, 1.0 mm. Ive also used snarling dog picks, but the size has always remained the same 1.0 mm, thick enough to have balls but not too thick.

A brass Dunlop Techpick. They're built like brick shithouses and really get that Albini clang thing down.

On guitar I use Dunlop's nylon 1mm. I've tried loads of others, but those are the best for me.

On bass it's Dunlop's big stubby 3mm. The indentation fits my thumb and index finger perfectly, so I never have issues with dropping them. I also like how they don't really catch on the strings like other picks that I've tried on the bass. They just glide over the strings and sounds nice.

I'm weird, I'm a bassist who uses a thumbpick, i like the dynamics of being able to switch between fingers and picking whenever. Plus I hate slapping with a fiery passion and with the thumbpick I can't, so that's cool.
