I know Pallbearer has used them but how do people with experience feel about the Peavey Rockmaster? It appears it's at least in the family of the Butcher/VTM since it looks like another response to Marshall Peavey put out.

in more amp news...got a chance to play my modded JCA50 with the depth knob and KT66's...this thing is so alive now! i don't use amp gain, as i like pedals more, but the clean on it now sound full and with pedals it just kills!

I recorded a demo last night, but after i packed up and had dinner i listened to it and the demo was shit...so will do one tonight post it up. Anyone thinking about the JCA50 or 100 shuold do it...get KT66's and add depth knob and you are set with a damn fucking good amp!!
I've been thinking of trying a set of kt66 in my Soldano. I get a ton of lows with the 5881 Sovteks in it but I wonder if I can get something to make the top end a little smoother. Really though I think a set of late break up 5881s will be fine for that.

Not sure about the 5881...never had them before, but i can say that the KT66's are a lot smoother than the 6L6's i had in there before and there seem to be more high/low mids now as well and the highs are not as harsh. Interestingly, i now have presence and treble turned up much more than before and the highs are still not harsh.

Well, if you aren't a fan of Relapse, Torche's last two labels have gone out of business so maybe they're cursed. I like Relapse's roster. And I <3 Torche. I know how a lot of people feel about 'em after the S/T and In Return.

In other news, I think I'm going to see Mastodon again. They're touring with Gojira, who I really want to see.

I picked one up for $50 that sounded great. It started blowing fuses, though, and I haven't had a chance to get it in for repair.

I had a Rockmaster head for a long time. I bought it off of Ebay after a guy had just gotten it serviced. 120w if I can remember correctly, seriously one of the loudest heads I've used. Had a ton of tone sculpting options as well. I loved that amp. Wish I still had a use for that many watts. I never needed to be mic'd when I used it.

conky wrote: Man, that whole clusterfuck still isn't through. I paid for the amp and waited a few days and still got no tracking number. When I called them up they have no idea where the amp is and that my order was cancelled. Fucking pissed didn't even describe how I feel about those dipshits. I paid for it with my paypal account since I was a few bucks short ($7 bucks and some change short cost me getting this amp) in my checking account. Turns out that Guitar Center doesn't actually charge your account until they ship whatever you buy (or so they say. I haven't talked to Paypal about this yet). Paypal went ahead and took the full amount out. The amp ended up getting bought by someone in North Carolina while my shit was cancelled by Guitar Center tards. I've been going back and forth with them for a few days trying to get my money back and have only gotten a partial refund. I have still yet to get the refund from what was directly in my Paypal account. So I'm with no Sunn still and some company has $200 of mine. This is the 3rd time I've tried to get a Sunn and all three times have been disasters. I'm cursed I imagine. Anyway, I'm hoping Ben's AD140 will ease the pain.
That fucking sucks man. I'm sure that AD140 will go a long way to making you forget about shit ass guitar center. Where in NC did that Sunn end up? I'll go punch them in the dick for you...and also steal it for myself

Just got me a good deal on a Black Forest at a local GC. Just got home and plugged it in. I still don't know what all the knobs do, but here's my first impression after 5 minutes of playing through it:

Black Forest = OMG!
Black Forest + Pharaoh = ZOMGWTFBBQROXORZ!!!111

Looks like I'll be selling a couple of pedals that will be gathering dust now...
Yeah man, Black Forest is good shit.
