That is bloody awful!

Its because they make the band pay for a certain amount of downloads.

I fucking hate that Uncle Grandfather guy. I don't know why he hasn't been banned yet
I highly recommend Uncle Grandfather changes how he posts, so his presence will enhance our forum and not offend people and overload threads with unneeded spam

i try not to say anything but his posting and attitude seems really really inconsiderate... i know ILF is normally pretty lax on banning people which is good cos this ain't no TGP but i'll be pretty sad if this continues for much longer..

That's definitely extreme! Whenever some new guy comes on here and posts 10,0000 posts a day it always gets on my nerves. I'm hoping unclegrandfather will grow on me, like everyone else has because I love all the regulars on here!

I don't really know much about the new guys but if you like it here stick around. :thumb:

Seriously, though, own up to the way you're posting and the fact that it's really rubbing a lot of people the wrong way. Don't be passive aggressive like this:

You seem like a legitimately interesting person with a lot to contribute to this forum.
I don't want you to leave, but I don't 'get' the passive-aggressive remarks every time somebody draws attention to how your posting is making others feel, and the lack of any attempt to rectify that.
I don't know about you but I would never act like that towards somebody in real life, forums should be no different.
Do you understand where I'm coming from?

Hi. Why not.

i'm just asking for examples of my behavior that rub people the wrong way. There was a thread where a wise crack was made about thanks for me not posting pics of my pedals in reply to my attempt to help answer his question. Lots of laughs were had at my expense, and I asked for an example of this behavior. No example was given. I even had a good laugh at the pretty sad "hate me" thread that was made.

And I'm the one with the bad attitude

I post on topic, i've learned to keep multiple items in one post and In reality most every conversation I've been in has been pleasant and rewarding.

Hi. Yes, and I assume you're referring to me posting in the what i'm listening to thread? I make a post every hour or so in that thread while i'm listening to records/cd's and on ILF. I don't think that is excessive. From my point of view I'm sharing music from bands that other ILFers might like. That's where I'm coming from.

I had a good laugh :thumb: I don't take anything seriously. I think other people should post more too, I can't imagine being on the internet without some music playing. All the best.

Regarding disagreements, ILF has a foe/ignore feature.
There's the PM feature that lets you contact the offending/misunderstand/misunderstood user.
There's also the Report Post feature to bring attention to more serious complaints.

For natives and newcomers, ILF has a general "don't be an asshole" agreement.

Hi.
Thankyou for the clarification. It's just that doing that makes the thread move a lot faster and adding the fact that you nearly always post an image for each clip it can be a lot of extra scrolling and (for those of us with crappy service providers and mobile internet) extra load time, which is pretty annoying for some if it just comes out of nowhere.
I'm not telling you that you should stop, just be considerate of that perspective if somebody does complain. I do think it would be great if people posted in threads like that more, but if we all did so every single hour it would be just impossible to keep up with.

I don't have any problem with UG when he actually posts. he clearly has the correct interests for this forum. but I don't think there's anyway he can't possibly understand that he's spamming. it's been pointed out to him several times on several threads and he doesn't seem to care. if everyone posted as he does there would be no conversation, which is the opposite of what a forum is for. so far he is a cool dude who is trolling hard.
