This isn't the "impossible lies" thread.

I do struggle with this, though. And I worshiped Sonic Youth's whole disconnected, seen-it-all interview aesthetic when I was younger. For whatever reason they came across as "the coolest people ever," but now that I'm not really worried about not being cool for showing excitement or enthusiasm it strikes me as really affected and disingenuous.

Re: The Confessions Thread
I have given up on liking anything as much as I like the Cure. It might mean that my music taste hasn't changed in the last 21 years and I'll always have the same taste as I did at 13, but I don't care.

Yeah dude, its bizarre. I can't get my head around it.
Although, I do like the sound of miniboss...I feel like a need a bowler hat and cigar and some wicked nintendo 8bit theme music before I karate life in the balls.
That shit has appeal.
And yeah, fuck a capella.

I need to keep my PC off until 5PM, otherwise half the day is wasted online.
I think I srsly have an innernets addiction.

Re: The Confessions Thread
I waste way too much time online as well... this site (and fantasy football) have been terrible for my productivity
In other news, I sold 95% of my cd collection today, and I really don't know how to feel about it. It was all backed up on my computer and I got $150 out of it, but it's weird not having any physical music albums. It's tough selling stuff from your childhood... and rediscovering my old afi albums from middle school and being hit by a giant fucking wave of nostalgia didn't make it any easier

haha seen it, it's amazing. My perception of him just totally changed after I heard a bunch of stories about him being kind of a sleazy dick after he and kim broke up.

That's actually a good name, for real.
Since my disc drive broke in my computer, I've only bought new music when it's available on bandcamp. Everything else is torrented. I've spent a lot of money on CD's and DVD's throughout my life, thousands of Euro worth, but I just don't buy CD's like I used to. I really miss it, but I've become addicted to instantly getting what I want online. If everyone was on bandcamp then I'd be using torrents less. Fortunately a lot of the good Sludge bands I like all use bandcamp.
Does anyone else feel this: Because you've spent thousands on music, films, books, comics, posters, art, etc. over the years, does this allow you to illegally source what you don't buy? Are you qualified to download a certain amount, morally speaking, because you've already invested in the artists and creators? I keep saying it is justifiable, but I might just be lying to myself and bullshitting myself.
I don't intend for this to turn into a huge debate on the morality of downloading, but I never would have found some of my favourite bands or spent any money on them if I hadn't downloaded their catalogue first. For instance, I've seen WHY? now twice in Dublin and have spent hundreds on them. I never would have gone to their shows or invested in them if I hadn't downloaded their albums. They would have simply been another band in my Amazon wishlist waiting to hear the click the 'Add to Cart' button. The same goes for Two Gallants. Going to see them live was a beautiful experience that I never thought would happen, and I buy any new releases from them (but I still have to download it because my disc drive is broke and I can't rip it onto my computer or mp3 player), but I used a torrenting site to first download their first couple of records. Does this also justify downloading illegally? I think it does. We as humans and consumers just have to keep a check on it.

I stopped buying stuff of bandcamp when my hard drive crashed and I realized you can't redownload stuff you've already bought.

Hey! Let's talk about serious thing. We're gonna talk about guitar, dude.
