I've been drooling over that Yamaha for some time now, keep scrolling back. It is quite the looker!

First thing on the menu tonight when once I get the kids to sleep is the pickup install.

Thanks, man. Happy to say it plays great, too.
Pretty sure the SG-2 and SG-3 (same guitar with an extra pup) were the first electrics Yamaha ever made. The problem is they only made them for two years, in 1966 and 67, before they switched to the weirder "Samurai" shapes.

Gentle reminder to let me know how the pickups are, really thinking about picking a set up for my Toronado.

It's been a long time coming but I got word Monday that my EGC Chessie, ordered Oct 2012, was ready to ship. Picked it up today from FedEx on my lunch break and OMFG I can't wait to get back home to it. Plugged it in for 20min or so and it was glorious. Setup and build quality are both top notch, perfect in every way. Weight is fantastic too, feels around 8lbs to me. Gonna need some bigger strings though, all in due time.
Titanium anodized body, neck, and headstock. Black anodized fretboard, pickguard, and control plate. Raw edges to emulate neck binding and layering on the guards. Brushed Bigsby and satin hardware. Wired up like a Pawnshop Mustang Special, dual humbuckers each with a 3-way slider to go between inner coil tap/humbucker/outer coil tap. Looks and feels like metal sex. Sounds incredible. Gonna be spending lots of time with this one. My other guitars will be jealous.

Thanks, it really turned out great! I had a very clear idea of what I wanted and Kevin and Co. nailed it, basically birthed my dream guitar.

Don't bother, I'll most likely die before you. Thank you though.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
Posted this in another thread, but might as well drop it here. I'm finally happy with it. Nocaster in the bridge/Mean 90 in the neck -- 250k pots right now but I think I need to go up to 500k. Kunkle Baritone neck. This thing rips. Tuned to Drop G right now. This picture doesn't do it justice, but the pickguard is that Warmoth snakeskin one. It's goofy as fuck but I've taken a liking to it. Warmoth Jazzcaster body with a walnut stain and a couple coats of Tru Oil.

Re: Let's see your GUITAR!
How do you like the Kunkle neck? Did you have to drill your own neck holes or did it come pre drilled? I'd seen them on ebay but not heard of anyone who had one
