Rethinking your board.

Post by zRobertez »

Everyone's done it. I'm doing it now... 78.32% chance that I will go through with it.

I thought about thinking about rethinking my thoughts on mine.

edit: now that i think about it, those thoughts were only about 84.74% accurate, i think.

I'm thinking about if I should rethink my all dirt board… partly because of the way I want to rout my metalz distortions.. which might lead into getting stuff worked on… layering just sounds so good yet stacking is also good… I think both need to be more… more.

I want to put the Four Eyes back on the board and maybe add a phaser (not sure which one to get yet).
Need to decide which pedal to remove too.

 no, not enough pedals there.....not enough...."there" there. be it presence or dimensionality or whatever you wanna call it, i think you know what i mean? running stereo with modulation effects is an example, but the same "there" is possible with mono signal. And once I get there, I want more....always more. So in a way that does tend to lead to more pedals and cables  talked myself in a circle.

:D

I prefer to run smaller board and change it from time to time.

I'm doing the same right now.
I blame it on Christmas.
I got so sad earlier when I realized I can't fit everything I routinely use on my PT-Pro. I got issues :(
Happy Dealings with: julius_deane, HeavyXIII, RobFossil, letsgocoyote, darkfields, colin, MEC, sanfordandsonny, delaydecay, aedes, leastwise, foomanfat...

 Pt pros ARE TOO small, they need to at least be about 5" wider :picard:

You understand my pain!
Just a couple more inches would let everything get on there all snuggly and happy

I think aside from the compressor and tuner, I've swapped out everything I was using a year ago...

I don't even know how it happened I feel like I haven't bought any pedals but my wife would say otherwise :idk: :idk: :idk:

I'm down to a delaylab, reverb and a bunch of fuzzes and that's the end of my daisy chain, I'm looking at iso power supplies right now bc I'd like to have the option of my trem, phaser or maybe buy a boutique overpriced flanger someday.... but those modulation pedals are optional and I am truly into my current setup.....

If you told me a year ago I'd be using a big box integrated delay modeller/looper pedal I'd have said you were crazy..... yet here we are....

I'm rethinking my board but for the best possible reason: surprise arrivals.

I won a Velcrobot from Fuzzhugger 3 months ago and then won the ILF Day sunny day delay from Dr. Scientiest last month. Then I got a ditto looper for Christmas from wifey-poo. I was happy with my board until I saw my guitarist's ditto and saw that I could squeeze it in. Now Tom is making me a algal bloom/Absynth combo so I can lose the two standalones and fit the velocrobot on the board. The ILF delay will be stationed on my amp top for tweaking. Ok I guess I'm no longer re-thinking, it's already been re-thunked.

I always want to but haven't taken the plunge. My band is heavily dependent on specific sounds that if I sold some gear the songs could no longer be played. That'd be great incentive to write more jams so I'm looking into it always. Just not sure what I'd do.
